Guys, I need a bit of help from someone who knows Chinese! I'd like to make a kind of a "logo" for this blog/url, using Chinese characters (to be used as a kind of a stamp in some of my edits), and need checking on the validity of my idea 🙂. Here's what I'm thinking:
The url of this blog (my main blog), is a combo of two Finnish words, korpi and korppi.
The first part, korpi, specifically means a certain type of forest (a rather moist, even swampy forest with spruces as the dominating trees), but can also be thought to mean a forest in general. Korpi also carries connotations of a place that is remote and devoid of human habitation.
The second part, korppi, is one of the Finnish words for a raven, one of my favourite birds 🖤.
So, I would like to get the Chinese characters to represent the idea of that combo of words. A Chinese dictionary tells me that "a forest" is 林 (lín; forest, grove, woods), with "a raven" being 大乌鸦 (dàwūyā; literally, "large crow"?). What I am thinking is something along these lines:
Which would imply a large forest (hence the remoteness, too) and, in this case, a crow... or perhaps even the raven, in a roundabout way (I want to keep it to four characters). Or so I am hoping... Am I on the right track? Or have I got it wrong somehow? As to the placement of the characters, I also tried placing them top-to-bottom-right-to-left, but for some reason I find this more aesthetically pleasing...
I would really appreciate any feedback, before I proceed with this 🙂.
