i just want to yell about this with someone so i came across a tiktok of a gentle analysis on lando and oscar’s individual love languages—lando’s being physical touch and oscar’s being quality time.
for context: the main reason of the video was to highlight everything in a platonic sense. they explained how lando and oscar have presented their own love languages not just to each other but to everyone within their close circles. then provided examples of them in social media content, in the paddock, the media etc. but just wanted to add in my unnecessary 2 cents on something from recently that makes my heart feel full.
i just love that for oscar’s birthday, we got lando doing up the card to gift to oscar. it’s for content sake and whatever, most probably told to do it so they had something to upload on socials.
but still, lando spent time and effort into writing something lovely out, inside jokes and whatever in between, and drawing a cricket bat and stumps with that dude on the front and being mopey when his art got a smudge.
and oscar just fucking loves it when he receives it. it’s quirky and funny and cutesy but it’s so telling of how they are as friends.
lando spent the time by choice doing all that and oscar appreciates it. because lando could just write out happy birthday mate just to appease social media management and be done with it.
but no, lando knows and understand oscar’s love language, even though his own language is completely different. and understanding someone else’s love language usually requires a closeness that settles not just over time but from true and involved friendship/partnership.
just popping this out too: i’m a rpf girlie at heart and will try to make nonsense about how they should just run away into the sunset and go get married. but nothing warms my heart more than noticing that irl these two teammates are just so in tune with one another and appreciate each other’s individual love languages because they are that close. that they are good friends and understand one another because they really care about one another, despite both competing for their team and against each other actively.
the platonic bond just makes my heart v full and i’m v much grateful that we get to experience it from afar.
