The Barbie Movie.
A small, non-comprehensive list of things that stood out to me (spoilers? Kind of?)
The soundtrack
All the jokes that played off of what it was actually like to play with barbies (the pool & ocean being flat, the cups having no drinks in them, the shower having no water, etc.

Barbies of many shapes and sizes! All very beautiful!
THE ENDING, OH MA LORD. Both the way the story concluded really beautifully, but also the ending joke that no one was prepared for—

Kate McKinnon playing the deranged, "ugly" Barbie
In the same vein, that movie would NOT have been complete without representing the kids who played with their dolls "too hard" (cutting their hair, bending them in weird ways, etc.)
Acknowledging that Barbie did in fact mean a lot to some girls. This movie was geared towards everyone, whether you grew up loving Barbie or hating her.
The mom and her daughter
The fact that when Barbie was starting to become "defective" and/or when she was in the real world, you could start to see her ""flaws"". Like I noticed in some scenes her eyebrows were unplucked and no longer perfectly sculpted, or her skin no longer perfectly smooth with foundation.
It was clear that SO much thought and research was put into this. I couldn't believe how many references there were to specific clothing items, certain playsets, etc.
The fact that Barbie and Ken DIDN'T end up together, and that Barbie DIDN'T indulge Ken in his flirtations (is that a word?) even once
THE FACT THAT I WAS SO CLOSE TO ACTUAL TEARS LIKE SEVEN TIMES???? LIKE WHAT????
The weird dark humor coming out of nowhere
The fact that Barbie never once looked at the human women (who were "imperfect" in comparison to her) with disgust
......the moment between her and the woman on the bench 😭😭😭
The mom's rant about how hard it is being a woman (esp a mother) and how you can never win 🙌🙏
The misogyny in the Real World was so well done. It wasn't overexaggated or over the top it was just NORMAL EVERYDAY LIFE

The number of times my JK frowned in this update was a lot. And she looks so silly and dramatic doing so. I think she must've had theatre training at some point and took to heart the whole make your expressions dramatic so people in the way back can see them. (I've never actual done theatre, but I'm pretty sure I was told that's a thing you're told to do.)

About Story and AU:
It is a hobby story inspired by my early experiences with role playing with friends online. I’ve decided to use that inspiration to create some ocs and make some characters based off of it after creating what I think is a pretty compelling plot!
The AU centers on Cyra who was a lone raichu gets into an unexpected predicament when a force that cannot be reckoned with gets in her way of her destiny. Inexperienced, Cyra must set goals for herself, put her determination to the test, find ways to pull through her fears and learn how to fight to avenge her loved ones with the help of her friends who she must help fight and protect.
The story specifically may have dark/cruel themes and moderate profanity. The story itself will provide more of an explanation and depth around the characters. It is also a long fic and slow-build so it may take a bit to get to the plot’s summary.

AU Explanation:
The AU focuses on a separate reality that Arceus has crafted where only and exclusively pokémon live separately from trainers. The “Forbidden Realm” (as they call it) is where humans and pokémon live together and “The Realm of Purity” is exclusive to pokémon only. Due to pokémon already being intelligent creatures, many of them have adapted well and many have developed different markings or even maintain a few details from their pre-evolutions or regional variants for some unknown reason; also making them in a way closer to their real-life animal counterparts. Even though The World of Purity is a bit different, pokémon still can but very little know of a way to travel to that world where humans and pokémon unite (very little few know about it but most others believe it is a myth). Many manmade pokémon species like porygon or klink as examples do not live in that realm but they may have species similar to convergent pokémon which I may or may not explore as it isn’t the focus but it sounds logical.
Since this is an AU, hence a spinoff from both the games and the anime, it may utilize information and logic relevant from both of them. Unfortunately most (not all) pokémon and elements/mechanics featured will mostly be from Gen 1-7. This is due to the AU/story being developed years prior and those are the generations I am most familiar with. Although there may be a species, an attack (depicted in my interpretation of course!) or a reference to the latest generations however.

I must also add, a few of my friends have said that my AU reminds them of PMD but the funny thing is that I’ve never played any of those games so it isn’t exactly inspired by that but very similar to it hence why I added it to the tag list here lol.
other shows I've enjoyed
Given how long it's taking me to write each episode review (I am writing fairly consistently, they're just long), I thought I'd also do this somewhat regularly just to keep this account semi-active.
The Acolyte- I was shocked by how low some of the reviews of this show were. I loved it, and I need more pre-Phantom Menace content now.
The Mandalorian & The Book of Boba Fett- Top-notch found family content. I do wish that I'd known I was supposed to watch TBoBF between seasons 2 & 3 of The Mandalorian, as I would've been much less confused.
at least tashi is pretty while being a loser what them two boys excuse I know for a fact tashi ancestors is giving her the most dirtiest of looks
my bestfriend who isn't really that much into movies like this said the whole film is just tashi duncan being fucking gorgeous for 120+ minutes and those two losers being...well, losers.
anyway, kind of related, but the dorm room scene solidified it for me that I would be persuaded to swing the other way for zendaya only. like that scene was SO HOT?? she was so hot??? like omfg her body was bodyyyyy-ing. she really was her fittest during this movie, and i think her ass is seared into my brain fr.
