A New Year in the Chinese Zodiac Starts Soon

Thursday, 19 Feb 2015 will start in a bit. It’s also day 1 of the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Goat according to the chinese lunar calendar.

What has it to do with the Lee Pace tag? Well, he was born in the Year of the Goat.

Generally, years of the zodiac signs in which a person is born is good for them. Given what last year brought, I’m looking forward to what’s in store this year as far as being a fangirl goes.

Interestingly, though the Chinese clearly meant “Goat’, due to the use of the same chinese character for sheep and ram as well, some are calling the new year’s zodiac the sheep, or the ram. According to Google, Ram is the popular translation choice for non-Chinese speakers.

I can certainly live with the more emblematic Ram as the avatar for Thranduil. ;)
