Me, an intersex person: yeah I detransitioned but I’m still enby, I just was pushed by my parents and doctors to transition to be binary as a teen because a) they wanted a boy and b) they DID NOT WANT AN VISIBLY INTERSEX KID; still support the trans community though! 💖

This fucking guy (who is perisex btw): “”NO lol the hate you get is just fine. Intersexism? What’s that? You HAVE to fit into my small boxes of cis / trans. You are like an ex-gay if you don’t. You should be ASHAMED of detransitioning lol you were just confused and stupid.””

When I get talked down to this way, as an IGM survivor, it is very triggering and makes me feel cornered. I was Not Asking For Your Opinion. I don’t want it.

Participants must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

-aged 16 and older

-living in the United States or Canada

-have ever discontinued a gender transition* or detransitioned

-desiring to detransition but feel unable to take steps

*We define gender transition as social, legal, and/or medical interventions used to affirm a trans/nonbinary identity. People who have desisted are eligible to take the survey.

*This study defines “transition” to include a broad range of transitioning, such as social, legal, and medical transition. These may include: social name change or using new pronouns, legally changing your name or gender marker, or using medical treatments to express your gender.

*We are interested in hearing from a wide range of people who stopped transitioning whether it was because you lost access to healthcare, you had medical complications from transitioning, because your identity changed, or any other reason.
