When the pain eased up enough for Legend to think, it came with a realisation. His eyes cracked open and he frowned.
"Why'm I fuckin' swaddled??? 'm joints are arseholes, I'm not a baby?" He grumbled, glaring like it could un-wrap Sky's sailcloth from around his body.
Something under his head shook as warm, surprised laughter rang through the air.
"Well good morning to you too, sunshine!" Sky. Of course Sky was cuddling him like a plushie. Though, out of everyone, Sky wasn't the worst to be held by. But why?????
The regular chitter chatter of camp had silenced. Oh, crap, everyone was staring at him. Wait shit he was being held captive by a cuddly octorock Sky. Legend weakly tried to squirm out of his hold.
Hyrule rushed over, silent as a fairy as always, but with an intensity that almost made Legend consider pretending to pass out again. Almost.
"You awake?" Fae asked, squatting down to be on Legend's eye level.
He gulped and nodded.
"Good." Fae flicked his nose. "You're a fucking idiot."
"Wh- huh??? What was that for!?"
"For being an idiot!" Hyrule chirped too cheerfully. "It's also why you're in burrito prison and Wild has your boots."
"HUH????" Ooh. Ow. No yelling for Legend. His head hurts now.
Warriors came over then, sighing deeply like he hadn't had enough coffee to deal with this. "What fae meant to say is you pushed yourself too far again. So, if you can't make yourself rest, we'll do it for you. Simple."
Hyrule took a seat next to Legend and gently bonked his shoulder with faer head. "You scared the shit outta us."
"We're in a forest, dipshit. 's stupid to not wear shoes." Legend grumbled. Pain was starting to creep back in again.
"Exactly! So we'll carry you." Sky gently brushed stray hair from Legend's face- wait, how'd he know that was bothering him?
"That's even more stupid. What'd I even do???"
"You don't remember?" A crease formed between the captain's eyebrows. "You're in a flare-up and didn't tell us. I pushed you too hard- you promised to tell me, asshole- and after a battle, you collapsed. Crying. Couldn't move and Rulie's magic didn't do much except make you cuddly, for some reason. You were pretty out of it."
Legend stared blankly as he processed the words. Wars kept going.
"Rancher helped brace your joints to give them some more support. You took it as a sign to try getting up and wouldn't listen to us telling you that's a horrible idea. Told me 'you aren't my uncle!!!' and tried to run. Four tackled you. You screamed bloody murder and passed out. Wild got you conscious enough to take a pain potion, but that was only after Sky swaddled you."
"What the fuck." Legend's face must be pinker than his hair.
"What the fuck yourself, dude." Hyrule giggled. Legend felt Sky join faer.
"I remember none of that-"
"No worries man, I won't give you shit for the shit you do when you're in pain and out of it. I'm not THAT evil," Wars reassured, putting his hands up.
Legend hid his face in Sky's shoulder. The traitor held him closer.
"Ooooh the elusive veteran shows willing awake snuggles... does this mean-"
"Yes, fine, c'mere." He would offer Hyrule his arm to snuggle under, but they're sort of trapped.
Fae understands anyway, and damnit Hyrule's so gentle with the way fae slots faeself into Sky's embrace (neither Legend nor Hyrule are that big or bulky, it's not hard for Sky to cuddle them both) and wrapped faer arms around Legend. He lets his forehead rest against faer shoulder.
The nice cuddles are less nice when Legend realises it's a prison of arms and he won't be allowed to use his own to eat the creamy carrot soup Wild cooked. Whatever. If he's getting princess treatment, he'll be the prettiest princess in all of Hyrule (the country) and petty to top it all off.
But that's later. For now, he could enjoy safe arms holding him gently, and the soft fabric of Sky's sailcloth keeping him nice and warm. Not to mention the remnants of Wild's pain potions in his system, which probably explained why he wasn't more grumpy or actively dying. Whatever.
