Can you explain what fem-aligned means? Can that apply to a non-binary person? Sorry if this has been asked before <3

yeah alignments are used for nb people mostly. being female aligned is feelinf an attachment to womanhood (this can be for a number of different reasons) but not actually being a woman

Can you explain what non-binary is to me? I'm pretty uneducated and I thought since one of the mods was nb they'd be able to explain it better than a dictionary definition. Also what are your preferred pronouns and what do you identify as (sexuality not gender)?

nonbinary is not being a boy or a girl. for me, it’s being without gender, but i’m not sure if that’s what it is for everybody. but there’s also being male or female aligned, which means that you feel a strong connection to manhood or womanhood in some way. i’m not male or woman aligned i don’t think, but i do ID as a lesbian which confuses some people because they’re like how can you be a lesbian if you aren’t a girl, and tbh i’m still confused about it myself. but that’s what i am. so ya know! my pronouns are ey/em/eir

no. nonbinary people are not women and if they’re not woman-aligned then it’s kind of insulting to them to say you’re a lesbian.

is it okay for a nonbinary person (who was afab) to use the word sapphic? like my sexuality and gender are both super fluid so i have difficulty finding the right terms to use but sapphic has always felt right but some people have told me that i shouldn't use it because i'm not 100% a girl???

you can be nb and sapphic. i’m a nb lesbian. but it has nothing to do with your assigned gender at birth.

I really dont mean this in a bad way, but how exactly can a nb person be sapphic? if they're not a woman then how exactly can they be wlw? again, I don't mean any hate by this, I just don't understand. could you explain it?

because there are woman-aligned nb people and people who feel some sort of tie towards womanhood and stuff like that

blogs like yours that acknowledge fem aligned enbys as lesbians are a+ bc ive been strugglin with my gender identity since i was 9 or 10 honestly and it makes me happy to be in a space where im accepted

well, being afab has nothing to do with it! you’re not a girl so it doesn’t matter what you were assigned as birth! personally, i’m nb and i’m not really sure if i’m woman aligned or what but i id as a lesbian, so i’d say it’s good! if you think you’re a lesbian then you are!

Hi there, I was wondering, what exactly does it mean to be woman-aligned? I've been seeing things out there that you can only be sapphic if you are woman-aligned. What if I'm neither masculine nor feminine- aligned, just non-binary? Does that still work? I'm agender, afab and ace, and I've been debating on whether I'm grey-romantic and possibly attracted to girls?? Idk, still working on that. But girls are really pretty, you know. Anyway, hope this made sense.

being woman aligned is feeling an attachment to womanhood whether that be socially or just in general, but in my opinion you don’t have to be woman-aligned to be sapphic, as long as you’re not male-aligned. if you feel like you’re sapphic, then you are!
