serious question that I’ve had for forever, what if someone’s a therian but they’re a really niche animal that they’ve never heard of? Like what would happen then would they just not be a therian..

they're still a therian! it's just that they don't know what animal they are until they discover the species, and that's valid! and even if it ends up that species doesn't exist in this world, that's valid too!

i'd recommend trying to find a specialized species ID site or forum that allows for descriptions without locations while trying to find the right species, though i'm not sure what sites/forums may fit that criteria.

i've come to the realization i am a dog, i think i've always known but i guess i only just now gotten the word for it,

problem being, now i really want to be called a good dog and whatnot, but its becoming hard trying to explain each time that i mean it completely sfw, i am asexual sex averse, i just want to be a dog :(

i've seen some people with their own owners and i have no idea how one manages to find that, but i would love to get some pointers? Thank you

i dont really know much myself about this, though i’ve asked some people and generally i’d say perhaps using the word “caretaker”/“caregiver” instead to avoid confusion, and trying to find others who have experienced similar or understand it is the way to go. here’s the responses i got so you can look at them yourself!
