“what happened?” i stopped holding myself to the standard to cisnormativity. i stopped believing that i had to be “correct” and consumable. that my transition had to be one that cis people could understand. once you start to unlearn that, you can fucking do anything you want, anon.

also hey don’t get in the practice of asking trans people “what happened” in regards to their gender affirming surgeries lol it sounds weird and judgemental. i’ve noticed trans masc ppl are especially critical of each other’s surgeries and there’s no reason to be. we should be celebrating each other’s transitions and lifting each other up. we’re a community.

Hey I hope I don't come off as offensive when asking this. Why did you choose to remove your nipples when getting top surgery? (I'm a pre-everything trans guy)

hey anon, this isn’t offensive! it wasn’t a dysphoria related thing, i just didn’t want my nipples. i like not having them. i think it looks neat. i’ve wanted them removed since i was ~19. when i had top surgery i asked my surgeon if he’d just take em off and he said yes. so i am nipple free now. one of my tattoo artists says i look like an alien 👽

So, i know you choose not to have nips with your top surgery, i was wondering what kind you had, exactly? It looks like it was something like peri or keyhole, which i want, and i’m considering no nipples, but almost all of the results i can find have been double incision, so im just trying to figure out if its possible to get the kind i want and no nipples. Sorry if this is worded weird or anything?

This wasn’t worded weirdly at all! You’re right, I had a peri double mastectomy! You should double check with your surgeon to make sure that (1) you have the right chest for a peri/keyhole surgery and (2) if they’ll be ok removing your nipples. My surgeon had never done it before and was amazed that I wanted them removed, but thought it was a cool idea. It’s a big decision to join the no-nips club, so you really gotta think about it :)

Seeing your chest makes me wish mine were the right size for peri, bc if I could have scars that look like that I’d absolutely go nipple-less. It gives you an air of mystery, and it looks really cool paired with the definition of your pecs

hey anon! please don’t compare your chest to mine! everyone’s scars fade! i got kinda lucky because i’m pale and my scars (in general) fade very quickly.

yeah i’m really glad i got them removed! they were gonna go one way or another lol! i think it’s also cool that people, at least on the internet, think it’s sick. i’m very passionate about modifying my body, and being met with this kind of love from complete strangers is so meaningful and encouraging. thank you.
