i'm sure i'm not the first to say this but i LOOOVE that Nona is vain. i LOVE IT when she thinks about how pretty she is and tells people how pretty she is and laughs it off when they tell her she isn't. i LOVE IT and it makes me CRY and REND my GARMENTS.

we spent two books with Harrow being described as scrawny and young and pinched and dour, and hating the feeling of her own hair, and having paranoia spells when presented with her own bare face. now Nona's here and she has exactly 1.5 brain cells and she's just delighted with this body that everybody including Harrow found so incredibly disconcerting. she's the only one to ever enjoy it uncritically. nobody has loved that meat suit for its own sake in nineteen years
