❣ - An unpopular opinion I have
[Hm, I would not call it an ‘unpopular opinion’ so much as a slight conflict with the canon material? For those who are not familiar with Tolkien lore, dragons are typically malevolent servants of evil in Middle Earth. I am not denying that drakes have very dark, violent, and greedy natures. (Far from, it, actually, and it is what makes them such wonderful and terrifying characters).]
[However, I think a lot people seem to think that Smaug would just align himself with and serve the likes of Sauron without a second thought. In doing so, I think they are forgetting how fiercely prideful and independent Tolkien’s dragons are. To me, nothing short of coercion of the physical or magical kind is going to get him to follow anyone.]
[Also several of his ancestors were slain while in service to the dark forces and Smaug would sooner pike himself on a Black Arrow than be Sauron’s lapdog and die like them.]
✾ - Why I chose my character
[When I was looking to break into the LotR/Hobbit roleplay community here on Tumblr, I knew from the beginning who I wanted to make my muse. I have always loved playing “creature” characters, and dragons have had a special place in my heart since I was a kid. Smaug is also a very different character than any I have played before. He is angry and merciless and greedy and a fun challenge to portray.]
☄ - My opinion of you
[You are a lovely person all around from what I can see. And while I cannot say I am familiar with your muse, he looks like a thrill-and-a-half from where I am standing. I would love to get to know you more. :D Also your demon and my dragon are required to rave together at some point. We should make that happen.]
