rat be back is an au where, instead of Luxintrus dying, rat does!

Lux does not take this well

Lux takes the reactions of everyone else even worse

Because Lux, Lux was one of Rat's only allies

everyone else was either ambivalent or actively hostile

so when people hear that Rat died, there's all-but celebrations in the streets

and Lux, Lux looks at this with flat, dark eyes, picks up Rat's body, and heads back to the cottage

ayyy! these are mostly in-character, I had fun writing them :D

1) What’s your name? Does it have any special meaning?

*a soft smile* "I’m Kaayjei! The literal translation is Star-Bloom, but the more poetic translation would be closer to blooming-flower-of-the-guiding-stars or flower-of-the-unknown-paths."

3) What weapon do you use? Do you wish it was something else?

"A Mage’s Staff! I’m still working on finding one that fits me best, though the flute I had for a while was close." *he goes quiet, and when he speaks, his voice is coated with nostalgic longing* "… I miss the battle-tridents from home."

4) How does your magic work? Did anybody teach you, or did you come up with it yourself?

*they hum quietly* I don’t know how much is from me and how much is from carrying the Vigil’s Light, but it’s like… it’s like I’m spinning a thread? Depending on how I spin it, the spell cast changes. And mostly I learned by myself, though another mage taught me my initial meteor spell. I suppose I did attend school briefly, but they didn’t really teach me spells so much as context for a few things…

7) You’ve been around many places, do you have a favourite food from any of them?

*his eyes light up, grin wide* Almuj has cactus fruit, which brought back so many memories, but Llevigar has some amazing muffins!

9) In your opinion, where has the best view out of all the places you’ve been?

The top of Mt. Wynn, or the towers of Llevigar, or maybe the sunset at the Ice Islands? I like being up high, and the land stretching out so far is gorgeous.

I love these! I think they're really fun :D

1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that the default setting?

I write in Comic Sans! It has its reputation as a meme font, but it actually does help me write faster and better. For things I need to submit that don't have a required font, I use Georgia!

5. Do you have any writing superstitions? What are they and why are they 100% true?

I don't know if it counts as a superstition so much as knowing how I function, but I 100% hold true that while Docs or similar is good for worldbuilding and typing up afterwards, actual physical notebooks are better for first drafts of true plot!

8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?

I'd probably choose no dialogue! I have a habit of writing atmospheric 2-person imagery when I hit 2 am, so I have practice with dialogue-less writing. It'd probably be about a hike or someone doing something during a storm, simply because hikes, snow-, and rain- storms all have interesting stimuli and actions to replace talking!
