He can feel the words bubbling up in his throat, but they don’t quite make it to his mouth. He doesn’t have to tell Seokwoo, he reasons with himself. He can say yes and bring it up at some nebulous, later time. He could even say no and never have to bring it up at all.
“It’s okay,” Seokwoo hurries to say once the silence has stretched on for too long. “You don’t have to.”
It’s that reassurance more than anything that makes up Chanhee’s mind. Breathe, he reminds himself, and feels his heart pounding in his throat. “I’m ace.” And then, because he doesn’t want to have to repeat himself, he clarifies, “Asexual. Ace as in asexual.”
