7. What feature (physical or otherwise) do they hate most about themselves?

Just for a fun-tidbit! Even before dying he had like, generic self-esteem hated his looks/avoided pictures etc problems :,DBUT HEY CURRENT STATE oh one hundred percent any of the visible wounds he has, PARTICULARLY any of the stitched up wounds. Which probably wouldn’t be as big of a deal to him if they’d ever…go away. But they’re permanent. The stitches cannot come out (or well. They can but that looks /worse/). And they’re a permanent reminder that he died and a dead (hehe) giveaway he is a returned person. (On the flipside, someone giving attention to his stitches in a loving way? He’ll be anxious as fuck at first but if it continues oh boy you own his fucking heart…though hey this can be used against him for sure.)

14. Are they prone to outbursts (of violence, extreme emotion… exc… )?

Extreme emotion yeah. Like. Not…random outbursts but, it tends to happen whenever he thinks he’s in a situation he doesn’t deserve. You’re being too nice to me, I don’t deserve to be in this relationship with you, you shouldn’t have gotten me this … and so on. Is this incredibly self-destructive? Yup. He even has awareness but just, cannot stop himself from like, purposely doing something emotional/uncalled for (very rarely violent but like could happen) when he feels like he shouldn’t be happy (which is also a Problem)

44. What’s one thing they wish they could do more often, but can’t?

See their family! And the thing is there isn’t actually anything stopping him other than himself (but I’m counting it for “can’t” because it ties into the whole place where he is as a person right now, he cannot being himself to do that). He loves them, but didn’t want them to deal with the stigma of having a returned person in their family so he just…left. And knows it’s not the ideal situation and knows they’re probably worried about it but surely him being away is just better for them right? (No. You fuckin moron.)

3. What is the worst pain they’ve ever experienced?

HM I was thinking about how painful I wanted to make this, but I have decided to go with the more dramatic/angst route heck yeah. Which means, the worst pain he ever has was getting a chunk of his tail carved out by a djinn with a sharp knife. Along with like, having been young enough at the time to know the djinn were a threat but like not fully understanding why or more specifically understanding why anyone would be so cruel to do something like that for seemingly no reason. (Not to mention permanent fear of he got away alive…most merfolk Don’t from that situation)

21. What is something that causes them great anxiety?

Related to the last question. Being surrounded by djinn. 8)) Oh does that happen to be his life right now? YUP IT SURE IS. Basically, think of any predator/prey relationship out there and imagine a member of the prey group living SURROUNDED by their main natural predator AT ALL TIMES with the only person they can even kind of trust also their predator. :,D it is basically constant “flight” response going off in his brain at all times (Granted they’re gonna switch places eventually but until then it’s half a year of this …though of course, maybe that “constant” flight response is vanishing more and more around his husband …hehe ).

36. Are they in control of their emotions, or are their emotions in control of them?

All of these questions tie together very nicely for Nysaris and I DIG IT. Because he’s definitely in control of his emotions. Back to the situation he’s in, being married to a djinn and living in their kingdom for half a year he basically has to be in control or he WILL DIE. BOTH of them would die or at last suffer SEVERE CONSEQUENCES for not appearing as the perfect couple, the symbol of peace for their people. So Nysaris is in control and manipulating his emotions to best fit any situation. Feeling scared? Focus that into concentration of not breaking your mask. Feeling angry? Turn that into spite and prove your husband wrong. Feeling aggravated? Put on a smile and be just as fucking aggravating right back. (Starting to feel amicable towards your husband? Starting to develop actual emotional attachment? OH NO THOSE GET SHOVED AWAY AND IGNORED LMAO)

4. Describe their worst nightmare.

Having one of her friends or family members die because she feels like she should ALWAYS be there to protect them (which wow I am definitely going to use the beginning of the Bounty Hunters storyline to say yeah THAT’S WHAT HAPPENED). And also it’s not just losing a friend but less … heroic, is that she is pretty conceited and full of herself re: her fighting skills (which like not as me playing her bc sorry how do games but in her canon HAS REASON TO BE) so also someone dying who she is supposed to protect is like an insult to her skills :,D

21. What is something that causes them great anxiety?

FRIENDS/FAMILY BEING IN DANGER and wow with Alunera being a member of the Intelligence SHE’S PROBABLY PRETTY WORRIED ABOUT HER ALL THE DAMN TIMEAlso of course worries about Mako a lot THIS IDIOT CHILD SHE RELUCTANTLY ADOPTS

45. What is the emotion they most commonly experience?

HM does battle-frenzy count as an emotion?? Because it’s probably that like the thrill of the fight, the rush of taking down her enemies and pushing herself to her limits to prove her strength. She gets real into fighting. (she probably gets real turned on by fighting LET’S BE REAL she is THAT type)
