And why would you need to risk people’s lives to go see his empty palace once a week?
The things attributed to gods fall into two mundane categories: things we know don’t even require a god (e.g. cancer survival occurring at the same rate regardless of religious affiliation, speciation, the formation of stars), and things that can’t be verified to have occurred at all (e.g. killing everything on Earth with a flood, turning one common language into many).
Things we don’t understand can still be detected, either directly or by their influence on their surroundings. That’s why we know we don’t understand them. Saying that you can understand something yet it can’t be detected is admitting it exists nowhere else but within your understanding; that is, merely the product of your imagination.
Believing reality-defying nonsense helps nobody. Least of all, yourself.
