Cherryblossom 1:7 Nadia Southern Island Dress resin garage kit figure build photo set July 14th, 2021

I’d been seeking this kit for a long while, but its price was prohibitive. Then a seller on Yahoo Auctions Japan was listing several of these at once, and I was lucky to win one.

Her flesh tone is a mixture of Mr. Color 7 Brown, 62 Flat White, and 173 fluorescent orange. Her earrings are jump rings from a clasp set bought at Daiso, and her necklace is from a strap set, also from Daiso. Both of these can be found in the crafts section of Daiso, the popular 100 yen store in Japan.

This kit is made in such a way that she can mostly be painted in sub-assemblies. both of her legs came together, attached to the waist. Her torso and head were separate parts, as were her arms. I painted her body parts separately. Her dress parts came together fairly well, but since I had painted them before assembly, putty work was needed to fill in the fit gaps. I also had to use putty to connect her dress strap completely since for some reason it just did not. The dress should cover the connection joints, but the one on her right shoulder did not get covered properly. In the midst of assembly, it’s either just live with the slight gap or risk ruining the figure in a mess of super glue.

I painted her eyes Mr. Hobby H-46 Emerald Green. I enjoyed painting her eyes, and I think I am getting better at this. Maybe next time I won’t paint a black line around the iris, but it looks fine.

There is a pre-painted PVC version of this by Aizu. Perhaps Cherryblossom is the same company. I suspect that the PVC version’s Nadia may be wearing underwear, but according to the show, she was going full commando under the dress. Or as it’s called in Japan, “no pan.” The weird thing is that her groin for this resin kit looked absolutely weird, like a blob. It shouldn’t matter  since it’s covered by the dress, but still, I took it upon myself to correct her crotch and went ahead and made her anatomically correct. :) I don’t think you can see that in the photos though, and I won’t post pictures of that on Tumblr, of course.
