Fix you

Once upon a time, a boy came up to me with a confident smile and said," I'm gonna fix you no matter how hard it will be. You"ll be the same as you were before. I'll make it happen." But he didn't understand that once you break a vase you can't make it the same as it was before. Bits and pieces of me is gone. He tried to fix me using glue and smiles but it didn't last long. I kept falling apart. Soon he grew a weary of me and stopped trying. And I laid there on the cold concrete floor broken with parts of me missing.

Imagination to Paper Intro

This blog is intended to help raising star artists to improve, find their style and empower them. Everything you find here will be notes, revelations and battles from my own experiences. And I want to start with the toughest topic of all…

“I see it in my head, but how do I get it onto paper?!”

Above was (and sometimes still is) the greatest challenge I faced (face) growing as an artist. Our minds retain everything we see—we just don’t recall every detail. If we did our brains might explode like the aliens from Mars Attacks. Yikes. So, figuring our how to distinguish what’s in our minds and get it on paper (or Photoshop or Sai or what have you). For simplicity sake, I’ll be referring everything to paper and pencil.

You see a beautiful or kick-A or epic perfect in your head. It could be original or canon characters. You see their faces super clearly, their poses, the wind billowing through their hair. You sit down to capture the image, fleeting or not. You start to sketch and it’s going along well, until you start to hit bumps in the roads. Uneven eyes, too-large of heads, whatever it might be that has you realizing the image in your head is not what’s bleeding from your hand.

We’re going to work on mind-hand coordination step by step, helping you to level up those skills!

Introvert’s Ramblings

I can’t say that I’ve ever considered myself a loner or total introvert in any fashion whatsoever, but I’ve definitely been known to “disappear” for a few days at a time where I shameless play games and eat pizza alone, or with close friends. It’s mostly been a mechanism to recharge. However as time has progressed, I’ve become not only more aware of my “alone time”, but also my diminishing desires to be alone...introverted if you will.

A big part of what’s made my love of interacting with people more pronounced over the past few months, I believe to be in large part due to my time spent pair programming every single day. It’s a continual process that requires constant communication and vocalization between your partner, which for some introverts may very well sound like their worst day. I’ll certainly admit, I had my doubts at times. However, any reservations that I had, are certainly gone now.

This isn’t really a discussion about the merits of pairing, but rather my progress through a more introverted progression towards extroversion. When you work with people in this capacity, you are forced to either run from this discomfort, or to embrace it. I’ve choosen the later. Extroversion isn’t the only added benefit, there’s also a seemly improved sense of communication, and in general, a desire to communicate.

Blame it on the latte.

Restless. Sleepless. There are chills running down the back of my head, and my fingers have started to feel numb. 

The barista at Eastwood up-caffeinated the iced latte I got, without my asking. He must’ve assumed I had serious plans of pulling an all-nighter because the husband asked for an extra espresso shot to his frappe. NOT ME. I already have enough caffeine running through my veins.

It was an act probably done in good faith. But I’d like to strangle him. 

Must. Sleep.

It’s already Friday (!!!) and I have a ton of chores due today, SHEESH.

Anyway, I just wanted to blab and type all the thoughts running on my head. Might as well let them all out rather than having them cloud my mind while I am trying my darnest to fall asleep. They say one has to detach himself from any form of gadgetry an hour before bedtime to achieve optimum sleep, but really, who cares what they say. I can’t sleep, my mind is on overdrive, and this laptop is just right by my bedside. So I’ll type.

Read this exercise somewhere that in order to get out of a (writing) block, you write spontaneously until the words run out, click publish without going over the entire thing you just wrote. I would like to try spontaneity once in a while.

How to become a president...

Say I want to be president. In this world of marketing, advertising and media junkies, I must Sell myself. But it's not enough for me to tell you what I stand for and what I'll give you. I have my opposition to think about. I cannot fairly compete with them, truth never stands a chance against money. So the only logical thing I can do is destroy my oppositions credibility. I won't tell you to vote for me, but i will give you reasons why you shouldn't vote for my opponent. 

Now 68% of the US fear death the most. That is a statistic that works for me. I need to link the thought of my opponent with thoughts of deaths. I cannot literally go into everyone home and brainwash them... or can I? Indeed I can. With the advent of television and radio and the internet, I can use to power of mass communication to my benefit. Since images last in people's memories I need very powerful images to be shown repeatedly over time. But not just any images I need, images of death, images of darkness, images of smoke, images of guns and explosions. 

If these images are taken in the land of my opponent, the most I can get is sympathy for those closest to my enemy, this is not enough to make them trust me. So I'll need to bring those images closer to home. Cause many deaths at home and blame my enemy. even if my enemy decides to expose my lies it'll be too late. The fear would have been triggered in you, you would have voted for me and I would win...

But the fight isn't over, you are a people of consistency. I will need to maintain links between death and the enemy. So I will pick a terrifying name, let's try the name "TERRORIST" and all people who are not for me will be classified under this name. does the name give you goose bumps? THOUGHT SO! For a while there will be mystery surrounding this group of people, who are they? where are they from? what do they want? what do they look like? and for a while rumours and conspiracies will be created surrounding this "terrorist" group. 

I will use this to my advantage. Besides spreading some of these rumours, I will be at the forefront trying to find the truth about these terrorists. when the timing is right, i will answer some of your questions. Once I have a large population of you under my belt I will then put a face to the group. Something you can identify the enemy with. For example a turbine, a long beard and an strong name like Sadam or Bin laden. because no one fears a Bob or a sanjid really... 

Through photoshop we create the face of this world enemy terrorist guy. Because of this, No-one has ever seen him therefore the control of the stories of his movements, his identity, his plans, his image is entirely mine. Just to secure my position with the people I will then send two planes flying into my buildings that are planted with explosives. Then have news crews already at the seen before the explosion happens just to get early footage... this will then get spread on every tv network, newspaper, magazine, radio station, blog, website. Everyone would have witnessed my enemy trying to destroy my people. And I would have won!!!!! You want my lies, because my lies comfort you in times of fear... thus the truth behind your fear becomes irrelevant!

Because once you fear something, it has you in it's grip. you become too frightened to ask questions, you become to shocked to take a stand. You then sit and watch tv, given me more power to do whatever it is that I want. 

Hi I am President ....... What more lies can i create to make you comfortable?
