I feel the need to articulate my position on PROP P. Firstly we must acknowledge that there are some great police officers. While they do exist, they're still part of the system is corrupt and in need of major amelioration. We in St. Louis are certainly in need of a criminal justice reform, but a sales tax increase would not be the best route. I recommend that the St. Louis Police Department were subjected to an audit, to provide an analysis of where budgets could be cut. I recommend that the police department was held accountable for its actions and crimes against humanity. With this being said I understand the complexity that police officers need ethical training, body cams, and competitive pay.... but more importantly we citizens need a police department that works for the people not one that terrorizes and evades accountability. Me voting "No" on Prop P isn't me inherently saying fuck the police. It's me saying let's reevaluate this bill and holistically conceptualize ways that the police can better serve us citizens without handing them a blank check! #dragtivist #stlpolitics #moonday #nopropp #noonpropp #votenov6th #instadrag
