#WorldVeganDay By a happy coincidence, we celebrated this day by going to a wonderful animal shelter, The Retreat Animal Rescue & Sanctuary @theretreat.animalsanctuary in High Halden in their last open day of this year. I loved it! The staff were so friendly, the food was delicious, and the animals as cute as can be. Their motto: ‘be kind, it’s easy.’ But please, remember their other motto too: ‘World peace begins in the kitchen.’ Oh and I came home with ... a book 😊 did you expect anything else? For the last 2+ years I have followed a blog about a little girl in the NKY/Greater Cincy area who was born with a rare/fatal condition.  Her parents were advised to abort the pregnancy early in the pregnancy but their faith and unconditional love advised otherwise.  Their doctor told them their daughter would be "incompatible for life" but God had a different plan for this baby girl.  She lived a little more than 2 years.  They never expected to celebrate one year of life let along 2 years.  Yes there have been many concerns along the way but the way Baby Nora responded was incredible and left many medical professionals amazed.  Her life took an unfortunate turn about 3 weeks ago and she was unable to recover from the emergency procedure she had on her stomach.  Nora continued to have complications until she gained her angel wings.  After following this blog for so long it is sad to hear of her passing even though I have never met Nora or her family.  The words her mom chose to illustrate Nora's awesomeness was so inspiring.  She had such strength and personality.  My hope is I can utilize my faith in the same trusting and believing spirit in which their family did over the past 2+ years.  It's truly inspiring.
