Am I the only one confused on why the hsmtmts cast was so upset when they got the mob song for a choice, like were they expecting it to be Beauty and the beast, like imagine having a dance of the beauty and the beast!!

It's amazing how much North High cares about discrediting the East High production, when the East High production looks like this:

north high has got to be doing their show illegally because how is it that they’re in the same district and doing the same musical? even if it was possible for them to do the same musical (which it isn’t irl) the cost of the production license alone is over a hundred dollars (if I’m not mistaken) so I don’t think even a more well off school could afford to change musicals that quickly since the arts are so underfunded. somebody’s rich parent or zack has to be paying for it because no school would give them extra cash just so they could change their musical without a good reason to. north high just keeps doing stuff that’s technically illegal and at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if they went inside the east high theatre and said the scottish play.

Unorganized thoughts on HSMTMS s2 (ft North High)

Writing my own HSMTMTS rant so I dont take over the post made by @eristhekid .

I know Tim said HSMTMTS was loosely inspired by Glee so I was expecting North High to be some kind of Dalton Academy + Vocal Adrenaline hybrid badass school that swooped in to cause mayhem but we've only seen Lily twice. We haven't even seen Andrew's character and now they're almost halfway done with the season so if they try to shove the whole plot line into 6 episodes it's just going to be forced.

Its painfully obvious most of the characters themselves only care about the relationship drama. Literally we had the love triangle + rini drama last season. It's also obvious the writers want us, the audience, to care more about the Rini drama than anything else. I've never liked main character favoritism and I never will.

I love Quinceanera because it focuses on characters who we don't always get to see. Even Kourtney got more screen time this week!!! It just felt so refreshing to watch something that wasn't 30mins of drama shoved down our throats.

In regards to North High I was expecting them to be bigger. There's no buildup for them outside of the first episode. There is no reason I (as an audience member) should care about North High. Maybe I expected too much from season 2, but it's almost like they've forgotten how to write their own characters. North High was gonna be this fresh and flashy new threat and everyone at East High would have to band together and focus on beating them. At least, that's how it was advertised. But they dont even seem to be focused on their own show much less beating a rival.

Season 2 is very boring.

I'm bored.

It's not even because my favorite character (EJ Caswell) doesn't have development. It's because they refuse to give anyone outside of the rini relationship circle screentime. Now to be clear - I think Rini is a good ship in theory but HSMTMTS is the kind of show where it feeds off relationship drama. I'm just at the point where I'm singing Kumbaiya and Why Can't We Be Friends because I don't really care about the Rini drama at all this season. Wouldn't it have been much more interesting to see Rini drama caused by a North High student rather than themselves? Like, throw in Nini being nice to North High's leading man so Ricky can be jealous or something. It feels like we're watching recycled writing.

NOT EVERYONE NEEDS A RELATIONSHIP TO BE HAPPY. It's like they're trying to shove everyone together with someone and it's just not working.

I like drama and angst if it's done right and this season of HSMTMTS just hasn't been doing it for me. It feels less put together than season one. Ever since episode one the entirety of season two has just felt off. Whether that's because of poor writing or because they rushed it since they filmed during the shutdowns and the pandemic so they couldn't flush ideas out to their full potential we'll never know.

Right now it just feels like someone wrote together a Rini centric fanfic and sold it to the writers to use for this season.

I'm not trying to spread hate but that's just how it feels.

Anyways sorry for the long rant, I just know I'm not the only one who feels this vibe.

So I am now finally catching up on season 2 of HMTMTS and I would just like to know how did north high not get disqualified from the competition with their diss video? Because I did a lot of different types of competitions in high school, sports, dance, music, etc. and those kinds of posts have literally gotten teams/schools disqualified in all of the competitions.

So I haven't watched the latest episode yet buttt....

i have some random thoughts i wanna get out:

is it the end of rini as we know it??? might this be the start of something beautiful between ej x gina??? jennzara gonna happen??? ricky getting a therapist soon???? he needs serious help lol.. oh kourtney and howie is happening fer sure!! what will hhappen to that girl who left for north high ( i don't wanna say her name) WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN IM GOING CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
