Figuring Out My Life Purpose With Karmic Astrology

I don’t know if you believe in reincarnation, and I’m not sure if it’s necessary for you to drink the proverbial Kool-Aid and believe in reincarnation in order to get the most out of this post but let me explain how Karmic Astrology helped me to confirm my life’s purpose.
So, what is Karmic Astrology? The best definition that I’ve found on Karmic Astrology is from the Richard Brown’s website. Richard Brown says, “Where conventional astrology tells you what you are, Karmic Astrology answers the question: Why?” I’ve had many mind-bending conversations with my therapist, Joan, pertaining to this very question. What about my childhood, young adulthood and past lives brought me to the place I am today? What is my purpose for being here?
I don’t feel it’s a coincidence that I’m writing this post or that you’re here reading it now. Despite how hippy dippy it sounds, and like I said, I know it’s out there! We are meant to discover who we are and why we’re here in this life. I never really had an interest in writing; in school my teachers weren’t particularly pleased with my writing style, I was told it was “too stylized” and “lacked structure.” In spite of those teachers, I kept writing and continued to create my own style as though I were sitting down, chatting with a friend. My mom always enjoyed reading whatever I wrote but I chalked it up to my mom being my biggest, and only fan. So when she told me I should write a blog, I scoffed, “Who’s going to read what I have to say?”
Fast forward through therapy, lots of yoga, meditation, energy healing, and acupuncture than, an epiphany came to me, I began digging deeper into my Virgo nature and discovered Karmic Astrology. In Karmic Astrology, I found that my North Node is in my third house in Scorpio and my South Node is in my ninth house in Taurus. And, what would guess is the ideal profession for a Virgo with such nodes? You guessed it, writing! I thought, “Why couldn’t I have discovered this twenty years ago?!”
Karmic Astrology, or Esoteric Astrology is leaps and bounds from your average daily horoscope. I became interested in Karmic Astrology on my path to enlightenment because I wanted to better understand energetically how I came to be and how, on this plane, I could reach my soul’s divine purpose. I’m going to direct you to a few websites that have helped me along my journey and I hope they will do the same for you in better understanding your “why”.
First, I wanted to discover my “Nodes of Fate”, which are my North and South Nodes of my birth chart that I mentioned above. According to Astro Style, “Our South Node reveals the gifts that you bring into this lifetime. The North Node is the exact opposite zodiac sign of the south node. The North Node requires you to stretch out of your comfort zone. Once you do, you’ll be amazed by how fulfilled you feel.” The best website I’ve found to quickly calculate my Nodes of fate was from Rainbow Moon. From my understanding, the South Node is what I came into this life with, and my North Node is the lesson I’m here to learn in this life but I must also learn to balance my nodes in order to get the most I can from each.
Next, I wanted to figure out which house my North Node was in, figuring out my North Node house was the key because my South Node is it’s polar opposite. Then I wanted to research how my particular North/South node combination played off of one another. For those who aren’t familiar with houses in astrology (I was not), houses are similar to a clock and are divided into twelve houses, each house is ruled by a different sign, the first house begins with Aries and goes counterclockwise, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer and so on. The best website I’ve found to help me locate which house my North Node was in – The Astro Codex, this website offered me a free six page birth chart, I just type in my first name, birthdate, time of birth, (if you don’t know your birth time, it’s okay), and birth city.
Lastly, I wanted to read about how my particular houses affect my nodes, for this I found an in-depth PDF with all possible combinations from the website Astro Fix. After all of that searching and meeting with psychics, it was here where I confirmed my calling to be a writer.
