After a day of Lillie backsliding to where she was just after surgery - we had a win this evening! She finally ate something. Canned chicken. I can say it was one of the grosser things I’ve smelled but I’m just so glad she ate! However if her other symptoms persist, she has to go back to the vet next week. This has been a rough recovery. And if it had anything to do with her actual incisions/the surgery it would be understandable. But it doesn’t. Even the vet doesn’t know why these symptoms are happening. Thank you all for caring about Lillie! It’s been rough going but when it got sunshiny and warm today she went out and sunbathed and that really seemed to perk her up! She was hobbling around the yard smiling. Getting her to eat and keep her pills down is still a fight. But it’s nice to see her enjoying herself a bit. Anytime my dear friend from childhood who lives forever and a state away comes home to visit, I am so thankful! Because not only do I get to visit her, I get to see her precious little boy (who’s getting so big!), and her parents too! And her parents just moved to the most wonderful old farm - I am so in love with it. It’s tucked into the side of a hill and has all the typical farm outbuildings and incredible giant trees sheltering the farmyard and even a pond! And let’s not forget those fantastic prairie views! And the house is perfectly old and bright and tidy and homey. Of course her parents help make it that way with warm spirits and delicious homemade food and general coziness. What a perfect way to spend the day! Annual trip to the Baldwin greenhouse with family! It may have been cold and windy but we found everything we were looking for and more, as always. In my case it was heirloom tomatoes and succulents (which I’m sure I will promptly kill somehow.)
