It's the only one that survived our bizzare spring, but it's so massive it more than makes up for the others that didn't make it. Squash is one of the Three Sisters - the plants that nourished my ancestors. Squash, bean, and corn were planted next to eachother because the squash would keep the ground free of weeds and retain water, the corn would shoot up above the squash and provide fertile soil, and the bean would climb the corn.
