I kind of wish all of the Monarchs had Ascended. I know there were perfectly excellent reasons to need to kill off Malice, Shen (and Seshethkunaaz), but it could have been hilarious!
The sequel series (that doesn’t exist yet) could have been an office comedy of all the various Monarchs dealing with the Reaper Division, that could have been so funny. Malice being asked if she’s related to the Akura Mercy, Northstrider being told that they’re a big fan of Lindon as well, but even they didn’t base one of their techniques around his. Etc.
