I recently sent a sketchbook to The Sketchbook Project at The Brooklyn Art Library. The sketchbook was titled “Shapes of Litchfield County” because I found that as I was capturing scenes from this beloved area, my eye gravitated more to the element of shape than any other. This was a refreshing revelation as a result of drawing and painting- after so many years of photography. This discovery will inform my photography as well, I’m sure. And now that I’m retired, I’m still photographing, but I have time to draw and paint, too!
