Panthers hire Norv Turner as new offensive coordinator
[ad_1]
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Panthers have hired Norv Turner as their new offensive coordinator.
Turner, 65, replaces Mike Shula, who was fired earlier this week after seven seasons with Carolina, including five as offensive coordinator.
Turner inherits an offense that includes 2015 league MVP Cam Newton, Christian McCaffrey and Greg Olsen. The Panthers finished 12th in the league scoring in…

Norv Turner quit the Vikings because he thought he was ‘holding them back`
Is that still a good reason to quit in the middle of the season? The Vikings offense was in the middle of a meltdown. Two games, two losses. On Wednesday afternoon, offensive coordinator Norv Turner had had enough. He quit. Now, we finally have a little more insight into that shocking... Read More: http://wp.me/p59zQO-cCv

Monday Morning Questions
What coaches should be getting fired?
Norv Turner and Andy Reid appear to be foregone conclusions at this point. They're on borrowed time already. But what about some of the other teams under achieving around the league? I'm talking mostly about the NFC North where the Bears are stumbling and the Lions just got run over by a stampede of Wildebeast. Lovie Smith and Jim Schwartz should probably be a little worried if both end up missing the playoffs. Also, as a Bears guy, I'd like to see Lovie go. He wins consistently but this team has more talent than any Bears teams I remember and should be doing more.
Can we all just admit the Falcons aren't that good now?
Cam Newton finally played how we expected him to play all year and the Falcons looked like the Falcons. A good team that just isn't there. Who are you avoiding on the Falcon defense? ...Asante Samuel? I don't think so. On offense Michael Turner is terrible. You can read me his stats and I'll ignore them. I've seen him play. He's not a good back. The Falcons are still a one and done team this year. Sorry Tony Gonzalez.
Does the NFC have a shot at winning the Super Bowl?
The top NFC teams are the Packers, 49ers and Giants. The Packers got destroyed by the Giants and 49ers and keep playing close games against beatable teams (yes, I know, they have injuries). The 49ers can't beat the Rams and aren't even locked in to win their division because of the Seahawks. The Giants just lost to the Redskins and also might not win their division. Put these teams up against the Texans, Broncos or Patriots and the AFC wins (yes, I know, the Packers beat the Texans). The season isn't over and one of these teams will likely make a push but the AFC Championship might be better than the Super Bowl this year.
How do the Colts keep winning? I don't get it.
Andrew Luck and the Colts are 9-4. 9-4. How's that possible? Andrew Luck is poised and has an arm and is everything we thought he would be. But I also thought this team had a bad defense, no running game and was missing their head coach. I've heard of a team that wins because no one believes in them, but people are buying in. I've heard of a team winning despite a tragedy but Chuck Pagano is alive, his cancer is in remission and this has been happening for a while. I just don't get how they keep winning. They're not playing good teams but wins are wins. I hope we get a Colts vs. Broncos playoff match up. The things Peyton would do to the Colts...
