to be blunt, this entire situation was rather stressful. admittedly, mj didn’t have the sort of role in the world or society that made her feel as though she needed to fix this, which she was sure many did feel they needed to fix it. it wasn’t so much that she didn’t want to help, but more so that she didn’t have any ways to help. instead, she was simply stressed because it was happening. she wanted to be at home, with her family and friends, trying to recover from the already traumatic experiences she had endured recently. but here she was, and she was going to make the best of it, even if it took everything she had. “what do you miss most about earth? for me, it’s the little cafe i went to that had the best lattes. the ones here are fine but they aren’t good.”

a heavy guilt had made its home in gamora’s chest. there was so much uncertainty here, and the more she thought about it, the more she thought about how completely and utterly trapped she was, the more stressed she became. initially, she’d been relieved to be here. now she worried her being here was going to put the fate of the universe at stake. it was hard not to let her fears and anxieties consume her, especially when she felt more alone than ever. but gamora wasn’t one to show her concerns to just anyone, so she’d been finding a way to push through and not let any of this bother her too much while she tried to find a way around it. 

gamora found a small place to call home, away from most of the city and small enough to not feel overwhelming. she was working on making it feel like home, but she wasn’t sure that was all too possible. she wasn’t good at food preparation, but she was working on that, too. after the day she had, she settled on getting food. the whole thing was still strange to her, but there was little she could do about that. as she stood, looking over her options, she glanced at the person next to her. “do you know what’s good here?” a lot of the food felt very unfamiliar to her.
