                   SHE’D GRAVITED TOWARDS THE most isolated corner she could find, a note pad full of doodles tucked safely underneath one of her arms and an obnoxiously large ‘ alcoholic ‘ drink in the other —  one that she probably shouldn’t be having, given just how much comfort she’d come to find in said substance, but that was a rabbit hole she didn’t want to chase, not at the moment anyway. so instead she focused on the sketch in front of her, color pencils at her side, she reached for the purple one, as she admired her work. “ hmm.. “ her voice trailed as she reached for her glass of gin, a mental conversation with herself wasn’t out of the ordinary, and she would have probably began talking out loud had she not felt the persistent stare of someone’s eyes. 

pushing her dark and clearly oversized glasses upwards, the young woman huffed. “ you know that phone we got does come with a CAMERA... “ her voice trailed for a moment, but her sarcastic flourish wasn’t going to end there. “ if my BEAUTY really is so distracting that you have to stare like a PERV… take a picture. “ she finished with a tilt of her chin. “ i’m feeling charitable i won’t charge. “ she added with a roll of her eyes, before she looked down at the pro type sketch of her suit, she’d been working on. “ but as long as you’re here… what do you think of this? does purple match my complexion? or is it too much of a fall color, for my fair SPRING complexion? “

the woman in front of him looked familiar, but he can’t place her. he didn’t know a lot of young people, or really, many people in general. and really, he didn’t think he actually knew her. but she looked very familiar, like someone he should know. bucky frowned, arms crossed over chest, when she spoke to him. “i’m just trying to figure out who you are,” he said honestly. “nothing personal or creepy, promise,” he insisted. “but i’ll leave you to it.” he was getting ready to leave when she showed him the suit. “...an iron man suit? you’re making an iron man suit?” for the record, he didn’t think purple was a fall color, but he was too distracted to say it.

despite his best efforts, bucky’s sleep was as filled with nightmares as ever. it was stressing him out, but there was little he could do about it. he’d hoped that being somewhere new, free of the stressors of his old life would somehow allow him to get some decent sleep, but it didn’t seem to be working. instead, awake in the middle of the night, he went out by the pier to walk on the beach, enjoying the quiet and the moonlight. @zertheastarters​ limit three responses

this new telephone was quite strange to her. kori had found the cellular phones of earth to be odd, too, but the titans had helped her understand all of it. here, they felt very alone. but it was okay. kori was good at making friends, and she always had been. “hello, do you happen to know how to use this device? i understand it is a phone, but i do not understand how to use it,” they said with a small smile. @xlornadanex​

thankfully, the sun that existed for this planet was still useful in providing her power. she was relieved, honestly. when kori woke up on this planet and realized they were not on a planet they were familiar with, nor in a galaxy they were familiar with, they were a bit worried. they wondered if there was a name for this city, or if the city itself was named zerthea. if the city was named zerthea, was the planet named something else? they had a lot of questions. they had been flying through the town when they landed near a building and wondered in. that was where they saw barbara gordon. she rushed over to her, smiling brightly. “barbara! it is such a relief to see you here! i have not seen anyone i know until you!” @comicisms​

kori was enjoying exploring this new planet very much! they wondered if they lived on an island or if it was a large piece of land. were other beings here on other parts of the planet? there were so many things to explore. she was going through the tour when she wondered off, enjoying the plants that were growing that she had never seen before. “look at these beautiful flowers. do you suppose they have small animals here that are native to this planet, as well?” she asked the other. @zertheastarters​ ​limit three responses

kori wasn’t really sure what kind of job she could obtain for money on this planet. her only experience was with superhero work and modeling, and while she had managed to start a modeling job of a sort, she wasn’t sure if it would pay her any money. regardless, and perhaps naively, she comfortably spent the money she had been given, enjoying buying things to decorate the apartment she shared with wanderer. after spending the day shopping, they picked up some food for the two of them and headed home. pushing open the door to their apartment, they smiled brightly. “i have purchased food for our consumption! would you like to sit together while we eat?” @ofmissedopportunities​

giving gifts was a very interesting tradition of earth, and so they found it fascinating that this tradition had passed through to zerthea. perhaps zerthea was more like earth than tamaran! she wondered if they were trying to emulate it, or if it were just by chance. kori considered herself to be pretty good at picking out presents, and this was no different. she brought a set of beautiful plates and a cake she baked herself. “hello, friend! i have made you a gift.” @claimedlight​

while she could recognize that all of this was very bad, bordering on terrifying, kori had to admit they were sort of enjoying themselves! kori had been to many planets throughout space and thought there were good things to be found on all of them, and they would do whatever it took to find what the good things were on this planet. at the moment, the good thing seemed to be all the wonderful people she got to meet. she was excited, honestly. she couldn’t wait. they sat down across from the other person and smiled brightly at them. “hello! my name is koriand’r, though my friends call me kori. if you are of earth, my name literally translates to starfire. it is so nice to meet you!” @svnsummoner​

since arriving on zerthea, bucky had done his best to keep to himself and avoid conflict or anything at all, really. with this little welcoming event, he realized that wasn’t really an option. after talking to his new friend at brunch, he went to get a few more things before taking off when he caught sight of his friend. “steve?” he said, quietly, a bit in shock, as he walked over to him. “steve, is that you?” he hadn’t seen him since he left to take the stones back, and the pain of losing him was still fresh. @atcraxia​

giving gifts wasn’t really bucky’s thing. he didn’t know much about what people wanted in this day and age, and least of all what they wanted on this planet. but food always seemed like a good way to go, so he had a bottle of wine and a basket of muffins. “i don’t know much about you or this planet, but i figured you can’t go wrong with a good wine, right?” @atcraxia​
