Today is National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. As an ally and advocate who happens to be HIV negative with a positive outlook for change, I will not be silenced by the pervasive stigma STILL associated with HIV/AIDS, especially in the Black community. Unfortunately, the "diverse" Black community continues to have one of the highest rates of incidence (the number of “new” cases) in the country. We have the "p-OWE-r to change this health disparity. In fact, we OWE it to ourselves and our respective communities. If you haven't been tested, please do and if you "KNOW" your status....POSITIVE or NEGATIVE, please take care of yourselves as well as others. We are ALL in this together. HIV prevention and treatment matters. It’s a loving act. #fctalk #freedomclay #afrofolkartbyfreedomclay #nostigmanoshade #jamesbaldwinquote #nationalblackhivaidsawarenessday #blackhistory365 #blackhistorymonth2020 #haikuoftheday #weareallthefaceofhivaids #stigmafree #reimaginingfreedom https://www.instagram.com/p/B8RKnvgpH-5/?igshid=jy6ahbuzba30
