Is there any ETA on dreambubble 2? Firefox user here that can't use dreambubble 1 anymore, and have been having shit luck finding other rp spaces like parp.
We're REALLY trying to avoid putting a deadline on this to avoid missing it either due to some kind of technical problem, something happening in Hex's life, or some unforeseen third thing.
I know this probably isnt what you wanted to hear, but after the original Ruby build ended up kind of a dead end and had to be scrapped last year, we're being really careful with the "PARP IS SO BACK" posting, y'know?
I do REALLY recommend cherami.chat though, it wont quite scratch the parp itch but damn is the good stuff there good.
So rolechat.org, which is a site that randomly connects you with other users, has an optional cooldown feature where you won't reconnect to any users you connected to before for 30 minutes. Could this or something similar maybe get added to parp?
That's actually built in- it's not 30 minutes, as far as im aware (im pretty sure its a few minutes, but I'd have to prod Hex because it's on the backend rather than something Mods can just toy with) but it should be on and functioning. A custom user option for it though is pretty smart! I put it on the suggestions sheet.

It just kind of feels like a poll that didn't even get an announcement on the site feels a little unfair. Especially since despite being a mixed fandom site, the majority of users only RP mspa and don't necessarily care if Spindlehorse stuff gets removed. It's nice to see when there are other people actually searching in one of your fandoms so you don't waste your time.
And I'm just wondering where these theoretical minors would even be coming from since the site doesn't really seem to be growing. Unless there are plans to advertise it somehow which might be nice.
The site IS actually growing at a pretty steady rate. I just don't want it to become a magnet for those kids, you know?
Admittedly part of this has to do with parps history; there's a solid contingent of older users who flinch if you ask them if they have a Kik. The site is better moderated now, in part because it's smaller, but I find myself rankling at even the hypothetical that things could repeat.
As for where they'd be coming from; I don't care where they come from honestly. Point of Origin doesn't matter, I don't want them here.

Dude RP sites barely exist. I dunno about you but if my only options were twitter and discord and my 13 year old ass heard about a lavish custom RP experience on an old site that just came back, I'd be on that shit in an instant. Especially since it's not like, culturally mandated NSFW like over on flist.
Like I dunno, maybe I AM being too cautious, but that's part of why this is a vote and not a mandate. I've received pushback both before and now after the poll, so I need to gauge what the users like. ACTUALLY want.

I don't really HAVE words for this, im stuck in a limbo between vaguely aghast and cackling like a moron. Hex is working on fixing this, but until then please peel back your use so nothing gets lost (you'll get an internal server error anyway)
EDIT: False alarm. Turns out most of the database bloat here wasnt chats, it was that we were storing the beta test logs and the mxrp data on the same server. Part of this is the log viewer, which is going to be taken down for a while because its got a 1:1 copy of the data in it and that's SUPER bloating it.
