Its 1030 and I always get sad past 9pm so erm. Songs that hit hard for me and feel hashtag deep to me. No particular order other than my thinking of them
Starting us off strong here with Creep by Radiohead and I genuinely mean this unironically. They perfectly encapsulate the feeling of being othered and feeling alone and like you're the only one who feels this way (despite the song's existence proving otherwise)
Ramblings of a Lunatic by Bears In Trees - is anyone listening to this, the ramblings of a lunatic? My mind is playing awful tricks < beloved. Hashtag felt. I love it. It's so me core
Also fuck it. The entirety of the I Want To Feel Chaotic album ^^ < generally a lot of their songs and albums. Fly Out To Alaska
The entirety of I'll Cry If I Want To album by Lesley Gore - just listen to it. You agree
All the time + Collector by Daffo - The chorus of these songs strike a hard chord with me. Good song to cry in bed too, curl up with stuffed animals. Listen to both. Listen to both of those albums
Take It Back by Bug Hunter - NEVER KILL YOURSELF!!!! "I'm hoping if she sees it, I have made my English teacher proud" realest line ever written. "With shaking hands, and fading eyes" "The world's not ready to lose you" its a song about attempting and failing, it's a song about writing a letter to God asking Him to let you die please but also regretting it all for every second you've sent it and are waiting for results. Please learn your worth and take it back
Pity Party by Mickey Darling - FUCK YOUR FEELINGS AND FUCK WHAT YOUVE BEEN THROUGH!!! ITS MY PITY PARTY BABY, JUST THIS ONCE CAN WE NOT TALK ABOUT YOU < if you've been there, this song is perfect. I've shouted these lyrics out to my empty house just to get the frustration out. Beautiful song, plus I love mickey darling
Honestly just put them on shuffle. Amazing songs and music videos
The Mountain Goats - put them on shuffle. Pick any album. Pick any song. You'll see. Dance Music, Lion's Teeth, Best Ever Death Metal Band, You Were Cool, Pale Green Things, No Children, Damn These Vampires, etc etc etc
The Ballad of Jane Doe + Sugar Cloud from Ride The Cyclone - Best for belting out and sobbing. You're welcome
I Like Giants by Kimya Dawson - I am just a speck of dust inside a giant's eye
James Marriott - Shuffle his songs. You're welcome. Don't Blame Me, I Don't Want To Live Like This Anymore, Where Has Everyone Gone, Sleeping on Trains, Romanticise This, etc
Just Give Me A Reason by P!nk - Grew up with this song. Good to cry to
AJJ - Shuffle. Any song. Normalization Blues, Brave as a Noun, Terrifyer, Who Are You, Self Esteem, Body Terror Song, Bad Bad Things, etc etc
Poor George by James Supercave - I've always heard this as a queer song. Am I wrong? Maybe. But it makes me feel seen in my struggles relating to my identity and other issues
Outside by O'Death - listen to it. It's a beautiful album
Revenge by XXXTENTACION - never kill yourself !!
Lack of Iron + Losing my Mind + suffering + unsweetened lemonade by Amélia Farren - I'm going to cry rn forever
Almost Human by Aurelio Voltaire - don't feel human? You will know this song in your heart
Goodbye by Bo Burnham - be cringe be free idfc. It hits that specific feeling of isolation and falling back again
Tidal Wave by The Hush Sound - You matter !!!!! I love you !!!!
Gay Thoughts by The Growlers - I tell them I love you, I don't wanna lose you, but they don't mind - listen to it. Queer experience forever
Okay its 11 now so I'm gonna be done. Hashtag long posting for an audience of none. Enjoy
Face palm
I just wanna say this since my blogs getting bigger, I have this as my secondary account. There maybe times I accidentally put something not AJR on here but fear not! I will remove it either immediately or soon... it might be a little weird because on main I’m a hot mess haha 😂
Some semi-coherent thoughts on people advocating for censorship and harassment online (especially in fandom spaces) as an ex-Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The Watchtower engages heavily in thought control, and has strict rules on fiction. Enjoying any fantasy or piece of media that ‘glorifies ungodly behavior’ directly reflects the morals and desires of the member, or inevitably will. And at some point, they will be compelled to act upon that desire.
If you play violent video games, you’re a bad influence on others and may become violent irl. Watching soap operas and reading romance novels are the same as ‘committing adultery in your heart.’ You’re not keeping your thoughts pure for Jehovah if you fantasize about a kinky, erotic scenario, and you will eventually enact it in real life. You’re too weak to resist, after all. And if you don’t believe that, you’re just committing the sin of “independent thinking.”
Maybe it’s useful to ask: who is benefited by a demand for purity? Who is benefited when shaming and fear mongering are used in an attempt to stop people from engaging in the “wrong” kind of fantasy or reading the “wrong” kind of story? Does it actually make the world safer? Are there individuals in power who might find that treatment of people useful? To what end?
@stellagalaxia yay thanks I love to ramble :)
Ok so, I believe that, while there are many different angles to approach the subject of Jehovah’s Witnesses from, I would start with the one thing that all JWs are supposed to base their entire lives around: Armageddon.
JWs do not believe in hell. They believe in an imminent Armageddon, when Jehovah will destroy everyone who does not believe in and worship him. This includes the babies and young children of non-believers. The deaths at Armageddon have been consistently portrayed as violent and frightening.
You do not have to be baptized to be saved from God’s wrath, but you do have to at least believe in and follow what The Governing Body (a small group of men who lead the entire Organization) teach.
The belief that we live in the Last Days, and the belief in a soon-to-come Armageddon is why the adherence to even minor issues of morality is treated with a kind of panicked insistence.
Your skirt is an inch above your knee? Well, that’s an indication of Worldly Influence and Independent Thinking, which spiritually weakens you. If The Great Tribulation (the brief transitory period that occurs before Armageddon) comes tomorrow, are you spiritually strong enough to survive it?
This is also why JWs strongly discourage their followers from attending college. It is considered a distraction that will almost certainly pull you away from “preaching and teaching,” and if you stop saving people from their own destruction, then you are not showing love for your fellow man or faith in Jehovah.
I have so much to ramble about, but I’ll just stop here and say that if anyone has any questions, no matter how specific or weird, please feel free to ask!
This song kinda reminds me of AJR’s overtures; if you like REAL weird stuff, you might like it.

Ooh! I like this a lot! Thank you for sharing! Reminds me a bit of some really experimental stuff I used to listen to years ago.
