I was reading about platonic relationships and then woe is me i have been wrong the entire time. I thought that platonic relationships equate friendship.
Reading a bit more i was horrified to find out that it does not say that platonic relationships are exclusively platonic. It can become romantic, or can involve sex which i really DO NOT want, and is supposedly "more than friendship". The irony.
So I don't know. Can I know more about the bounds of what platonic should mean because I've been saying "I love my homies platonically" all the time and I might have been using the term wrong and may cause misunderstandings here and there. I'm considering to use the term aplatonic for myself too, however I don't know which spaces i could start on to start learning about aplatonic orientations.
Thank you🙇
I’m not sure. I only really know aromantic stuff. I can give you these definitions:
definition platonic:
“(of love or friendship) intimate and affectionate but not sexual”
definition platonic attraction:
“Platonic Attraction is a form of attraction that is defined as the desire to form a platonic relationship (also called a friendship) with a specific individual”
Otherwise maybe ask @our-aplatonic-experience?
