Hey, is there a nice but effective way to explain to my coworker that essential oils really can trigger asthma attacks even though they are natural? I’ve tried. She doesn’t put them on in the office any more (mostly), but she put lotion on that has essential oils last week and triggered a (for me) fairly major asthma attack, and came into work today smelling like essential oils.
I just...don’t know what else to tell her. I have nothing against essential oils in general as long as people are aware of how to use them safely, but I have asthma and essential oils are one of my like four biggest asthma triggers. I can’t leave the little corner of fresh air my air purifier makes at work when she’s there without wheezing.
She told me last week that essential oils are far less likely to trigger asthma attacks than perfume, because they are natural. I just...don’t know what more to do.
