Example A: Brian (left) , Myrna (right), and Hedy (back), enjoying their peaceful, safe lives at Animal Place.
I am so sick, tired and angry from seeing pictures of animals that humans pay other humans to abuse and kill. EATING ANIMALS IS ANIMAL ABUZE. There is no way in which it’s not. No way around it. From now on I’m unfriending/unfollowing people on social media who post pictures of the bodies of dead animals with captions that express pleasure under them. I don’t care who you are. If we’re close we’ll keep up with each other in other ways. . I’m sick of people offering “sorry” to me when they don’t mean it. I’m also sick of hearing “that’s just how it is”. No, that’s not how it has to be. We don’t have to harm animals. Simple. . I am not over reacting; I am actually under reacting. If you saw someone doing to an animal (a dog, let’s say) what you pay people to do to chickens, turkeys, pigs and cows in daylight, you would be angrier than I am now, and you would probably make sure that someone got punished for that action. . I am allowed to be angry and I am. YOU choose the impact you have on others.
He's a dork
Buster ❤️ he lived at the organic farm I lived and worked on this past spring and summer. I took care of him while I was there and when I left, no one gave him the care he needed and he suffered. I’d occasionally post him on my stories but every time it broke my heart because I’d have to explain to someone that he wasn’t mine, he was going to be killed and eaten, and there was nothing I could do about it. Even though I wanted to save him more than anything. At night I’d always hop the electric fence to see him, he’d immediately lay down for belly rubs. It was the only time he got the love and affection he deserved. He would often put his head on my lap and just sleep there 🥺 During these nights I’d always say to him “I won’t leave you here” and “I’m not gonna let you die” 💔 when I ended up actually having no choice but to leave, I was so upset. I decided to try one last thing, reaching out to a local sanctuary who directed me to @peacecanadaorg P.E.A.C.E stands for People Ensuring Animal Care Exists - how beautiful is that?! This charity got back to me right away and found a temporary & forever home for Buster to go to, they also transported him to safety. He was being fed nothing but mixed nuts for a month and he rarely got fresh water 😢 Within basically one week, Buster was rescued. It almost doesn’t feel real! So many people came together to make this happen and I’m beyond grateful for every single one of them 🙏 special thanks to @kismetcreekfarm for offering to give Buster a forever home early 2021. He’s now at his foster home @kitchensink_farm 🐷 This photo is by @brent.ludwig on Saturday just before Buster was rescued. He took such good care of Buster along with Hugo from P.E.A.C.E 🖤 Please check out @peacecanadaorg for some videos of Buster during his journey to love & freedom 💗 they’re so heartwarming to see. This has been the greatest gift I could have asked for and my favourite thing that’s happened this year. Do you still eat animals? Do you know that pigs are literally no different than your dog? They’re actually smarter. Please choose love and compassion. Just eat plants instead of dead bodies of individuals who wanted to live.
Words of encouragement from Emily!
Emily entered her internship as a vegetarian and left as a passionate vegan! She also says that “veganism opened [her] mind to being more creative with cooking and being healthier.” All positives!

Rest easy, Mishka — you’ll always be safe at our sanctuary. This is the life every pig deserves.
