Poor mum has just spent the last hour trying to explain how to calculate profit margins and then how to calculate the vat on goods we’ve sold but remember it’s different for 2nd hand goods vs new goods and don’t forget we don’t pay tax on exports and it’s different for items we sell on behalf of an individual and there’s also 4 other accounts you need to manage and if you get this wrong our whole business gets fucked but it’s because you don’t have any organisational skills I’m so worried about you, why can’t you wake up earlier so you can put in more hours because you need more time to do this, and I’m sure to an accountant this all makes perfect sense but my math-averse brain is like

I don’t know if I’m just paranoid or if the other people on my team are just more abrasive than usual toward me. Like…if i was ‘managing’ someone i wouldn’t ask things in an accusatory or abrasive way or tone, i’d just be friendly about it and if there was a slight deviation with the norm i’d just roll with it. I guess I’m *too* laid back for an office environment/i believe there can still be deviations from standard practice while still getting work done in a timely and correct manner. Maybe those things are ‘from a certain pov’ a la obi wan…and I do often have a different pov from other people, which is why i tend to keep my mouth shut at work

Maybe the reason I haven’t gotten a promotion yet is because I’m too laid back. I am not unprofessional though. (Ps still didn’t hear about the other promotion) I will also clarify all of this by saying that I always do what is asked of me and I always get my work done on time so it isn't an issue of slacking off because if it was then their tones and language would be warranted.
