Voice chat can be crucial for some teams.
However, there will be times where your team refuses to switch to team chat or will be in team chat but only to be loud and disruptive. Most of the time this all depends on what rank you’re currently in.
I’d say anything below gold will be hell for voice communication.
As your contribution for your team chat all I can say is that making call outs like “___ Low.” is a very good start. Now my advice comes just from a plat rank so it may not help all that much but here we go.
When I was making call outs I had to say the same call out 2-4 times just to get it through to my teammates. As annoying as that sounds it isn’t the worst. Sometimes your team is just concentrating a little too hard lol.
It’s also a pretty good thing to call out what enemy just died. “Ana’s dead.” Especially if it was a good member of their team (Healers, or Tanks.)
Callouts like “Roadhog (Lower left, top right, behind, in the room to the left/right)” Are always good. If one of your teammates are near where the enemy is chilling and your teammate doesn’t notice or is preoccupied with a different enemy then you should probably call out to them.
“Zarya there’s an Ana to the right of you.”
I think the best part of team chat is that you can also meme about, so if you can help it try to have a happy tude and a friendly tone. If you have a toxic teammate it’s best to ignore them and keep making callouts. Stay positive, make jokes, have fun.
Competitive is taken very seriously from time to time but your life does not depend on winning.
If I have anything to add to this as I climb ranks I’ll try to make a part two or something. :)
