This is super unrelated to anything I usually post about, but the last week I’ve been dealing with family stuff and I have questions.

My BioDad is…something. We haven’t spoken in nearly a year and his gf messaged me this last weekend and said that it’s basically my fault because I don’t invite him to things and I didn’t reach out to him for his birthday.

The reason we have not spoken is because he called me a worthless pos and said I can’t do anything right…for going out to look for my missing grandfather.

This probably should warrant some more background but I have a meeting in five minutes so I’m not giving this the background it deserves (but I can after my meeting if anyone cares).

Basically, would I be a total jerk face for telling her I have no desire to talk to him? 😬

easy formula for writing summaries of your fics

do you feel tempted to write “summary sucks story much better” when posting your fics? say no more, because there’s a framework you can use to intrigue your potential readers!

1) Sentence establishing the status quo

2) Inciting event that shakes the status quo

3) Sentence that suggests that characters cannot go back to status quo

idk I’ve just been using Ao3 more lately and it makes me remember that people struggle with this. Bad summaries personally turn me off and I think the solution’s simpler than it seems

For the most part I am irritated when games are clearly written for a male protagonist even though you can choose your gender, but in the dragon quest builders series this mostly results in the primary npc of each chapter being a cute girl infatuated with the player to varying degrees while the rest of the male npcs get upset about all the attention she gives you over them, so I’ll give it pass this one time
