Saw a post about mspec lesbians (or something along those lines I forget so fast sbsbsbsb), and I'm wondering what that means? /genq

I've only seen /neg posts about it and I'm wondering if its actually a bad thing since on tumblr everyone seems cool with it. I dont know if this is offensive at all, but if it is please tell me, I'll be sure to correct !! I'm assuming it relates to bigender? And while I'm talking about this, the whole pan lesbian thing? It feels like this blog would be more knowledgeable than I am on this stuff- hope you're doing well, ty in advance for any input!!

I'm not an mspec lesbian, just a no-modifier lesbian, but my understanding is that an mspec lesbian is someone whose attraction has enough nuance and complexity that it can be described with both the lesbian label and an mspec label (bi, pan, omni, etc).

Sometimes people use this label because they know they're attracted to women but experience unclear attraction to men (like they don't know if it's platonic or romantic). Or they're attracted to multiple genders, but not to men, which would fit into both definitions. Or they use the SAM, so like, a panromantic homosexual woman could be a pan lesbian. I'm sure there are a whole bunch of other reasons.

Most of the arguments against mspec lesbianism are something like "lesbians can't like men can never imply they're attracted to men that encourages corrective rape." First of all, that's called victim blaming, fuck off.

But also, lesbianism has historically just meant attraction to women? It was never a requirement to define ourselves by our relationship to men until radfems pushed political lesbianism, basically painted mspec women as traitors, and forced them out of the community. Obviously mspecs are under no obligation to consider themselves lesbians too, but they shouldn't have been forced out.

I think the blog @bi-lesbian has a lot of information and resources if you want an actual mspec lesbian's take on these things.

So, G-d very definitely is not cis. I mean, G-d doesn't have a sex, so... can't have a gender identity that correlates with that sex. Beyond that, I don't think G-d has a binary gender. (and I prefer to just not use pronouns for G-d)

The thing that really got me thinking about this was the "G-d made humans in G-d's image" thing. Men were created in G-d's image. Women were created in G-d's image. Tumtums were created in G-d's image. G-d created a whole lot of people with a whole lot of different genders. So my theory is kind of that G-d has all the genders, and then sometimes one of those genders gets sprinkled into a human, sometimes part of one, sometimes more than one, sometimes none. And that's how humans ended up with so much gender diversity, G-d has the whole spectrum.

I especially noticed this on the High Holy Days, but Jewish text refers to G-d as both a Father and a Mother. I feel like that speaks for itself. G-d encompasses both masculine and feminine. Some of our most sacred prayers recognize this. G-d is multigender, to use our human language.

So, G-d has multiple genders and probably all of them. (I was going to say pangender, and then I thought omnigender would be funny bcc we've already got omniscient and omnipotent.) However, gender is largely a construct created by humans, so G-d is sort of beyond that too. It's like... G-d's gender is everything and nothing all at the same time, and it's just this really cool paradox that humans can't totally comprehend.

I don't totally know if I believe in a god, but it's a really cool thing to think about so I definitely have thought this through and discussed it and everything.
