((Hm that thing I just reblogged brought back bad memories. I haven’t had the worst life but something about how it’s going made me realise that I’m really fucking insignificant. My irl friends have ignored me before in terms of my feelings, teachers have ignored me, some less important acquaintances even- they’ve ignored me. Even after my job interviews, they just don’t answer. I obviously didn’t get the job but an explanation would be nice. Not many people actually tell me ‘Sorry, I had to do something.’ It’s not many people online or irl in fact, more irl but in total it adds up and I guess In a way, I’m insignificant. Invalid. Unimportant and I didn’t notice until now.))
I've been meaning to ask this for a while but all of your musings are unique and I've never seen them posted on any other musings blogs. I was wondering if you try to ensure that yours aren't super common or if it just happens naturally.
Hm, it’s a little bit of both but it mostly just happens naturally! I get 99% of my musings from songs, and I don’t listen to a lot of modern mainstream pop. That isn’t because I think there’s something wrong with it! It’s just not really something I enjoy listening to!
Honestly, part of my motivation to make this blog was because it felt like I kept seeing the same musings from the same songs posted by a bunch of different blogs and I just wanted to start making a place where I could make my own musings from music I listened to! I honestly never thought this blog would be as popular as it is and I really can’t thank all my followers enough!
It’s sort of funny because now that I have quite a few followers, I try to make even more of an effort to ensure that what I’m posting is a little bit different from the usual themes for musings I see around from time to time.
One thing I definitely plan on working on is adding more musings that come from artists of color, particularly black artists!
