Since chapter 6 of my fic is officially up, and Ellie's true form has been revealed to anyone reading (and I trust that you are all reading), I can now share this fun little pic I drew up of the actual height diff between Aaravos and Ellie.
“Being tall is so amazing”
I say before standing up after doing literally anything ever and breaking my back, because everything in this world is made for the short tyrants.
James has so many favorite things about Sirius but it absolute favorite thing is that he has legs for days.
He's the perfect height for James to snuggle into even as they're standing and James van put his face in Sirius neck and feel all warm and protected because Sirius is *tall*.
The tallest of all of them, in fact, and James loves it.
5'4" is the average height in the USA ,I looked it up. Y'all can't call me short anymore, I'm average height. So shush I will fight you. Stop calling me small and cute or I will bite you.
Sengoku BASARA 30 Day Challenge
Inspired by this post
Day 14: Favorite stage?
My favorite stage is Eiroku Palace: Resolution from Sengoku BASARA 4. This one was tough, but allow me a little rambling and a little conspiracy theory-ing. First of all, the textures and details of this stage are beautiful! I love the music change that occurs when you draw closer to Yoshiteru's chambers and walk up the hallway lined by his guards.
Second of all, this particular variation of the stage is a fun subversion of history. One of Matsunaga's "Three Evils" was the assassination of the shogun, Ashikaga Yoshiteru (though the level of his involvement may have been exaggerated in the annals of history). Here, we see Matsunaga protecting Yoshiteru against you, the player. This is particularly ironic considering this stage is meant to take place in Nijou, the castle where Yoshiteru was killed. reIn SB4, Matsunaga has entered Yoshiteru's service under a tenuous agreement. Matsunaga is chasing after "resonance," but there are implications in dialogue of being aware of the cycle of samsara present in the game through Yoshiteru's will and wanting to escape it, including and especially the death of Yoshiteru. As an aside, I love the line from Nobunaga expressing jealousy that Matsunaga is spending more time with Yoshiteru than him now!
Third of all, it's time to get super meta. Yoshiteru wields a shaku baton of sorts as his weapon, but it also resembles something called a vajra.
A vajra is a symbol in Buddhism that represents indestructability and force. It is often depicted as an all-powerful weapon wielded by important figures or deities. Fitting for someone like Yoshiteru who can stop time!!! Now this may sound like a stretch compared to his baton, but bear with me.
The term basara in Japanese refers to flamboyant behavior associated with the rise of the warrior class and rejection of the ruling class that defined feudal Japan leading up to the Sengoku Era. The Ashikaga shogunate had even banned basara behavior. That's where the name of this franchise comes from - the characters' outlandish and exaggerated antics refer to this time of societal upheaval that makes this period of Japanese history so unique.
Now, what if I told you that the word basara is derived from the sanskrit word vajra....................... food for thought.
