Yes, I know I am tagging "gifts" instead of "gifs." Yes, I know I am tagging "cue" instead of "queue." It's to protect my blog.

Organizational tags got hit hard in the Apple Store tag ban a few years ago. If you don't know what that is, in the aftermath of the ban on adult content, tags associated with adult blogs also got flagged. Many of these adult blogs used simple, harmless, organizational tags like "queue" or "gifs" or "long post" that got flagged as a result of being associated with these blogs. Any tag that was flagged allegedly made the post inaccessible to iPhone users.

I tag my posts extensively, including tags that contain all those words. My blog was incorrectly flagged as being for adults at the onset of the tag ban. This crippled my blog functionality, including and especially searching by tags which is the reason why I use tags in the first place.

It took several months to restore my blog, and during that time, it got flagged and marked as being for adults twice before it finally remained as being a SFW blog.

I am not risking it again. While I have little evidence to suggest that the tagging earned me a flag, I am not taking any chances. Therefore some of my tags are roundabout, strange, or deliberately misspelled.
