How was Chris first reaction seeing a Deathclaw?
i think it was pretty early on, probably in between his visit to big town and arefu. jury-rig stiffened up, a bad sign. some wastelanders ran past him, an even worse sign. so he and jury slid under an old truck and trailer to wait it out, whatever it was.
mole rats, radscorpions, bloatflies, all pretty easy to understand what they came from. but he could only assume this thing crawled out of actual hell. it was that kind of fear that makes your whole body turn numb, and makes seconds feel like hours. he gathered enough composure to notice that it was injured, dragging its foot, but he wasn't about to be the good samaritan who put it out of its misery with his busted up hunting rifle. he waited until it limped out of view then he waited some more, and once he got his own legs working again he booked it in the opposite direction.
