materials created by adults for adults don't 'facilitate' abuse in fandom, anon. the primary driver of adult-child sexual abuse across environments is the unchecked, largely unquestioned control that adults have over children's lives. a guardian's ability to withhold education about bodies, sexuality, and consent, adult lobbyists paying adult politicians to remove any semblance of sex education from schools, puritanical religious stigma, the ability and perceived social obligation at all levels of authority to punish children for seeking out or engaging with sexual content, or having interactions that aren't developmentally appropriate, the gendered and racialized dichotomy of which children get to be innocent in the eyes of society, all of these things 'facilitate' child sexual abuse. adult artistic expression doesn't need to be tempered by the hypothetical spectre of its child abuse potential and i don't trust anybody entertaining that as a serious abuse prevention or mitigation tactic
