And When Mac is truly feeling dispair, this happens.....
Not What He Seems...
((Still in present day. Take it. Love it. Eat it. Do whatever with it.))
Alexa walked through the forest with a smile on her face, her tail wagging and enjoying the peace of the afternoon, her hand locked with her prince. A small, light green sparkle flew around them, Arthur trying to swat it away with a scoff. “Damn Fae...” Alexa quickly stopped him, “No wait! Don’t do that! She hates that!” He raised a brow at her, glancing at the hovering green spark then back to her. “....She?” The green light became brighter, only to fade as soon as it grew, revealing a woman with blonde hair, her lime green eyes glowing as the sunlight hit her eyes, floating a few centimeters off of the ground because of her wings. She folded her arms and huffed, “Yes. A for your information, I am not a mischievous little Fae. I am a more...I’d like to think a more elegant and nicer version. A fairy.” Alexa giggled, looking up at him and motioning to the woman. “Arthur, this is my best friend, and sister, Caroline Evergreen. Caroline, this is Arthur Bushell, my-” She was cut off by a squeal as she was pulled into a tight hug, Caroline bringing her into the air and spinning her around. “You finally got a boyfriend! I’m so happy for you Lexie!” She chuckled as she tried to wriggle out of the hug, succeeding and landing on her feet back next to Arthur. “I’m glad you’re so happy for me. Thanks.” She then flew back down and gave Arthur her hand, “It’s nice to meet you Arthur! Sadly, Lexie has failed to tell me anything about you.” She said as she glanced over at her friend. Alexa rolled her eyes, Arthur shaking her hand with a smile. “And it’s nice to meet you too Miss Evergreen. I think you have a lovely name, has a nice ring to it.” She chuckled, “Why thank you.” He then looked down at the princess, taking her hand and caressing his thumb on top of it, “Alexa, could you let us be alone for a moment? I need to talk to your friend about something.” Alexa folded her arms, raising a brow at him, “Arthur, if there’s something you want to say to Caroline, you can say around me.” His smile was now mixed with a raised brow as he looked down at her, “Then that would ruin the surprise, now wouldn’t it?” Alexa sighed. “Fine.” She then gave him a peck on his cheek, before walking off into the trees. Arthur then called out to her, “And make it far enough to where you can’t hear me!” She yelled back, “Okay!” He sighed and looked back at Caroline.
She smiled at him and tried to start a conversation, “You two seem cute together. So how’d you two meet?” He folded his arms and thought for a moment, “Well, her mother introduced me to her. I’m a prince, so I was a suitor for her.” She nodded, “Ah. So I see that she told you about the half Human, half Mythic thing.” He scoffed, “Of course she did...And it looks you damn things are everywhere...” Caroline blinked a couple of times before chuckling, “...E-Excuse me...?” He made a face of false sympathy, “Aww, did I offend you?” He chuckled, beginning to circle around the fairy. She looked at him with a shocked expression, “What the hell? What happened to the ‘your name has a nice ring to it’ thing?!” She balled her hands into fists, a white aura with small particles surrounding them. Arthur sighed, “So you think I like the fact that she’s half Mythic? You creatures are already a plague enough as it is, so it makes it all the more irritating that it’s spread into royalty.” She was just about to go for his neck, until he immediately pulled out his bow and an arrow, aiming it at her as a green aura surround the arrow head. “I wouldn’t do that if I were you...” She growled, letting her hands fall back to her sides. He chuckled darkly, taking the arrow in one hand, and letting his arms falls back to his sides as well. “Good girl~. Now, here’s the deal, Caroline. I’m not doing anything to Alexa, well, yet, but I could if this little...Spat, between us is brought up.” Caroline, without hesitation, grabbed his neck and slammed him into a tree, growling at him, “I swear to gods if you harm her, I will end you here and now...” He scoffed once more, “Right. I don’t think that would be a wise choice my dear~. How do you think she’ll feel if she found out that her best friend killed her boyfriend?” Caroline’s grip on his neck began to loosen, letting out a long sigh. “Damn it...I don’t want her to end up the way she did with Lucas...” He pushed her off of him and dusted himself off, “Right, so this little predicament stays between, deal~?” He gave her his hand, an evil smirk spread across his face. Caroline stared at it for a moment, before taking it in an unusually strong grip. He winced slightly, quickly shaking it before pulling his hand away shaking out the pain.
She then flew in the direction Alexa had went, calling out to him, “I’m gonna go get her...You better keep that promise....” His smirk stayed plastered on his face, waving to her as she left. “I’m a man of my word~.” He said, his fingers crossed behind his back.
Alexa sat under a tree with a bouquet of flowers, tying their stems together and humming to herself. She looked up once she saw Caroline land next to her, smiling up at her, “Hey Cari. How was the talk between you and Arthur?” She sighed as she looked down at her friend, “Alexa, I was happy for you, but now I don’t think it’s a good idea to be with him.” Alexa raised a brow at her, setting down the flower crown she was making, “What? What’re you talking about?” She sat down next to her, sighing once more, “Alexa, he just threatened me a few minutes ago, so now I just want you to be safe and...Break up with him.” Alexa quickly got to her feet, shaking her head. “No. Not Arthur. He wouldn’t do something like that behind my back.” Caroline stood back up as well, “Lexie I’m telling the...” She stopped, staring into her eyes. Her own eyes begin to narrow at hers, “....Lexie, what’s your natural eye color...?” Alexa looked at her with the expression of ‘what the hell’, but still answered, “Dark purple. Like an amethyst. What the hell does that have to do with Arthur?!” She stared at the princess for a moment, before sighing once more and taking her hand. “Alexa you have to believe me! Arthur is bad news!” Alexa shuddered, pulling her hand away and holding her head. “Ack! Damn it....”
Arthur had crept through the bushes, watching in content as he watched the two of them argue, until he noticed that Caroline touched her, growling to himself as he watched Alexa in irritation.
Caroline helped her sit back down, holding her close. “Alexa? Lexie are you okay?!” She blinked her eyes a couple of times before shaking her head a bit, and looking up at the fairy. “Uh, yeah. I’m okay...What’s going on?” She raised a brow, until she gasped at the sight of her eyes. Alexa raised a brow at her, “Cari what’s wrong?” She narrowed her own eyes as she did before, staring at her eyes and Alexa leaning away. “Alexa, what’s your natural eye color...?” Her brow stayed raised as she chuckled, “Sapphire blue. You okay there Caroline?” Before she could answer, she turned to see Arthur, almost instantly guarding her from him. “Stay away from her!” He raised a brow, acting as if he hadn’t just threatened her. “What’re you talking about Caroline?” Alexa stood back up and moved past her, standing between the two and looking back and forth between them. “Mind telling me what’s going on here...?” Arthur sighed, taking her hand into his and glaring at Caroline with an angered expression. “I’ll tell you what’s going on. Your friend here attack me! Just out of the blue!” Alexa darted her eyes towards the fairy, a shocked looked on her face, “You what?! I thought you were happy for me! Why in the hell would you attack him?!” Caroline’s heart fell, noticing her eyes were back to a dark purple once he grabbed her hand, well, a lighter shade now that she was upset. “I...I didn’t attack him! He threatened me, and almost shot me with an arrow!” Alexa looked up at him, a brow raised. “Arthur, tell me the truth. Did you threaten her...?” He shook his head, “No, I didn’t. I would never lie to you.” She sighed looking back at Caroline, “Cari, why would you lie to me like this...?” Her shoulders began to sulk, her eyes averting her gaze. “I’m not lying Lexie, if I was I wouldn’t be trying this hard to convince you.” Alexa pinched the rim of her nose, sighing once more before Arthur kissed her cheek, and guiding her back to the path. “Come on love, I’ll take you home.”
Caroline looked up, feeling rage grow inside her, her eye twitching slightly once she saw him turn back towards her with a devilish smirk, making her ball her hands into fists. Once she knew they were out of sight, she punched the tree behind her, making some of it’s roots come up from the ground and making it lean to the side a bit. She sighed, rubbing her bloody knuckle, then tending to the tree before flying off. “Damn prince...He’s not who he says he is....I need someone to talk to....” She flew towards the castle, staying above the clouds so that she wouldn’t be seen. She landed in the castle garden, walking inside and sneaking around the halls until she came upon a certain door, and knocking on it. It opened, revealing a man with red eyes and brown hair on the other side. He raised a brow at her, “Caroline? What’re you doing here?” She didn’t answer, her head hung low. He placed a hand on her chin, lifting her head up, “Lass, what’s wrong?” She sighed, taking his hand and pulling him inside the room, “Andric, we need to talk...” He sighed and let her pull him inside, closing the door behind them, and locking it.
