“You know what, Daniel? Sometimes, being a complete nerd really comes in handy,” Eiffel says with a triumphant grin, clutching his prize tightly against his chest as they walk.

“You’re never gonna let that go, are you?” Jacobi says, and Eiffel shakes his head with a laugh.Jacobi thinks it’s adorable.

“Hell no,” Eiffel says. “I won a Star Wars trivia quiz, there’s no way you’re getting this away from me.”

Laughing and leaning over, Jacobi lifts himself onto his toes to press a kiss to Eiffel’s cheek. Eiffel turns to meet his lips, grinning widely as Jacobi pulls him closer with his hands resting on his cheeks.

“Chewbacca isn’t getting to see what we do in the bedroom,” Jacobi says before he breaks off into a fit of giggles. “No, I mean- the game of Snap. That got violent. We should get rid of the cards.”

“I love you so much,” Eiffel sighs.

“Love you too, babe. You’re really cute when you’re excited, by the way.”

“I- I am?” Eiffel says, bemused, confused, and absolutely adorable. Jacobi sniggers, kissing him again.

“You are,” Jacobi grins.

“You’re… I love you.”

“I love you,” Jacobi sighs happily. “Now, c’mon. I’ve got a date with you, and so help me God, it’s gonna involve ice cream.”

Jacobi drags him along with a gentle grip on his wrist, but Eiffel doesn’t mind- he’s still grinning, happy as he’s ever been.

43. “Are you drunk?”

Clark leans his head on his hand, glaring at the glass on the table in front of him as though it’s offended him, somehow. He hasn’t really moved for the better part of half an hour.

“David?” Enlil says, nervousness in his voice. “Are- are you drunk?”

Clark laughs, closing his eyes and relaxing a little.

“Yeah,” he says. “I am. Because I’m a coward, Enlil, and I’d never dare to say some of the things I want to sober. Cause, you know, it’s strange. I love you, and you know that, but you don’t- I’ve never told you that, well. I…”

He trails off with a sigh, opening his eyes again and looking into the closest camera. Enlil wants to hug him- he looks upset, looks conflicted, and it hurts. It hurts.

“David…”

“I wish you were- you were human. I want to hug you- Jesus, Enlil, I wish I could see you.”

“Do… you wish you could kiss me?”

“Yes.”

Clark smiles, closing his eyes again and settling into the seat. 

“Everything’s in order, David. You should go home, go to bed,” Enlil says quietly, because he knows the flight is early the next morning and that Clark is… not thinking clearly.

“It doesn’t feel like home, without you,” Clark whispers.

“I-”

“Enlil? Can you tell me a- a story?”

Clark is drunk, Enlil knows, but he looks so goddamn sad that he doesn’t have the heart to tell him to go home again.

So he tells him a story- one that Clark falls asleep halfway through. Enlil stops, watches him for a moment- he looks vulnerable.

“Love you,” Enlil says.

It might be his imagination, but Clark looks like he smiles in his sleep.

6. When was the last time you laughed till you got lost?

hmmm perhaps this is #depressing but i don't remember the last time i laughed in general? wait no that's a lie i laughed at james acaster's "brave little cis boy" so that counts for this question now

9. Last time you sang with the fervor of the hunt?

i pulled a bunch of all-nighters practically back to back and at one point it became extremely important to remember this exact stanza of an old folk song, so i angrily muttered it to myself at like 3am until i got it right fjfjdksk

16. Most awkward situation you’ve ever been in?

hhhhhhhh probably earlier this week on a skype call with my boss where i had to go "listen i know you said you would help me with this but i basically assumed that was a lie based on previous experience in other labs, so that's why i did all the work myself"

fhfjdks i don't even have to open spotify to check, it's just the entirety of the amazing devil's "thatw" album (which is only nine songs i think actually, so it's that album + "not yet/love run" from their first album lol)
