Not afraid to fall

As i fell through the air, wounded and broken I was visited by an angel and it said to me I can give you wings to fly from harm But it will cost you the life you currently live You will cease to exist, dead to those you love The choice is yours, but there is no return I closed my eyes and shed a tear Memories flooded my mind, The happy moments, and the sad But i realised my answer was simple So i told the angel this. I do not fear falling Nor do i wish to escape my future If i take those wings i lose everything i stand for I lose my friends, my family, my happiness I wont be able to protect them, love them or care for them I will surely survive, but at a cost too great I can not risk abandoning those i love to ensure i survive So my answer is, i will fall The angel hesitates, and whispers But why give away the certainty of life?, When you hit the ground you will face great pain, before death You would still lose everyone, why not take a new life? But if this is your choice, then i shall grant it I took in the magnificence of the angel before i responded You assume that because i fall i will hit the ground But that is where you're mistaken I may be wounded, i may be broken, and i may be falling But i wont hit the ground, because she'll catch me She always does, and this wont be an exception So i could take the easy way out, turn my back and fly away Or i could trust her to catch me. My choice is simple.
