Yup! First/second grade during the summer. During the school year, I work with everyone 2nd-8th grade, but the 2nd graders are my buddies. I've known most of them since they were three.

They're so damn smart, and no one gives them credit for it. Most of the adults smile and act like the kids can't hear them when they talk about "adult things" over their heads, and that's not right. The kids hear everything. They have a right to have what they hear explained to them. They live in the same world as we do, and when adults say frightening things that they won't explain, the kids worry. I try to always tell them the truth in a way they'll understand. Occasionally I have to deflect questions so parents won't come after me, but I've never lied to a kid. Not about something as big as life and death.

You can tell a lot about someone by the type of music they listen to. Hit shuffle on your ipod, iphone, phone, itunes, or any media player and write down the first 20 songs that come up! Then pass this on to 10 people. One rule: no skipping!
