I’m running a oneshot tonight - yay! It’s with my family (my mom, dad, younger brother and two younger sisters), and it should be very interesting, as only three of them have played RPGs before and only my brother and my older younger sister have experienced D&D 5e before...

Anyway, thanks to @bennetdoyeni for a concept and to @notavampire for helping me flesh out some specifics!

Here’s a little summary, if you’re interested:

The town of Olem [oh-LEHM] has had a bandit problem over the last few months; the merchant caravans entering and leaving the city have been attacked and pillaged, a good amount of wealth disappearing with each attack. Unique in hurting, but not killing, the merchants they stole from, the bandits always disappear without a trace, and no one had caught a glimpse of their faces or anything that would set them apart until one group of weavers entering Olem brought word of seeing a finely detailed sword, engraved with the image of a rearing horse, in the hands of one of their number.

With a way to distinguish and recognize the “Silent Bandits”, Lord Blackmoore of Olem releases a flyer requesting the help of guards for a group of merchants heading north from the city, who are passing through the area considered part of the Bandits’ usual territory. The guards (members of the party) will be handsomely rewarded if they take care of the bandits, but bring the leader, rumored to be called “Silver”, back to Olem alive.
