Any time we encounter a mistake or sin or challenge in our life experience, we are presented with an opportunity:

Any time we encounter a mistake or sin or challenge in our life experience, we are presented with an opportunity:

1. Either we can look for some new thing to fix us; a new method, a new church, a new teaching, some new effort, some new commitment, some additive to the Gospel.

OR

2. We look to the Rock from which we were hewn. We look to Jesus, His Person & Work, to show us once again our new creation identity and all that we have in Him.

This doesn’t mean it’s not ok to learn new things and tweak things in life sometimes. But, when we allow problems throw us back onto ourselves or to look to something we lack, we miss out on the virtue that flows from the One who has provided everything we need in His Person and Work!

My prayer is that we would be rooted and grounded in HIM alone, so that when challenges come, we don’t start running to find some new additive.
