Hail Caesar || Happy World Lion Day! This is a lion known as Caesar of the famous Notch Boy Coalition. In March 2017, I went on my first (of what I'm sure will be many) safaris with a hope of seeing some of the famous lions everyone spoke of. One late afternoon we came upon a few lionesses, some cubs, as well as the remaining Notch Boys (Notch 2 and Caesar). The Notch Boys were napping as the lionesses and cubs were much more active. After waiting what seemed like forever, Notch 2 finally awoke. Just as we were about to leave in order to get back to camp prior to sunset, Caesar woke up. This is one of the first shots I was able to capture of Caesar. Unfortunately, recent photos of Caesar show that he is extremely thin and reports from the Mara indicate that he is not doing so well.
